Tea parties....

Freakin hilarious.

The story begins "Some worry..." about ACORN backlash at the parties. Makes them appear under siege.

But who is "some"? The article quotes the tea party people as saying they aren't worried, so its not the tea party people that are the source of this dramatic and important concern.

Know who "some" is? I do. They don't exist. Its a fabricated concern to once again go after ACORN, who may or may not deserve it.

Its like liberal media doind a story that "Some people are worried that all Republicans eat their children alive" and then discounting it.

What a freakin joke this network is.

cnn/msnbc/cbs/nbc/abc aren't jokes?

"Some people" think they are.

Now in this case, there are actually some people that really believe that.

No one thinks that the tea parties are going to get counter-protested in any sort of significant or organized fashion (I'm sure there will be some horn honking, etc.).

But the Fox story gives this artificial air of banding all the uber-riught wing lemmings together to fend off the nasty liberals who are coming out to counter-protest them tomorrow. The purpose of the story is to make it seem like they are beleagured by the unfair and meanie liberals by manufacturing this threat that does not exist.

all media outlets regardless if they lean left or right are ridiculous. you can't find one that gives the news the way it is, with no political stuff thrown in. if you don't think those other ones aren't just as bad, then you're living in a fantasy world.

Find me a story where they made up some fictitous people to be worried about a fake threat from conservatives to disrupt some liberal protest and we can talk.

But this tactic of artificially creating "worry" so as to justify rallying conservatives has become a Fox staple.

The article indicates that the "tea party" folks are some of the "some" that worry, but aren't concerned with how ACORN tries to portray them enough to change their plans.

The bolded sentence makes your two follow on paragraphs look kind of stupid.

they can't. Conservatives generally don't do that kind of crap. Rallying and group whining aren't the conservative way.

Just hope these things stay on message.

What is the message (as you perceive it) and what direction are you expecting to move towards?

I ask because many criticisms of these events I've seen fail to see the real point of the protests.

there is no humanly possible way that you actually believed this.

Having a Tea Party in my town. I have got to work but my wife is going. 10-1 the media will under report the attendance of these by a wide margin.

Protesting high taxes. I predict, however, that on your local and national news that won't be what message you really see.

I believe the intent is not protesting high taxes; at least not current high taxes.

Instead, it is protesting SPENDING - particularly the aggressive spending that has currently taken place and is proposed by the current administration. The revolt is about the vast ramping up of deficit spending and the inevitable FUTURE tax policies that will be required to deal with the spending.
