I was thinking about this the other day... all the hype and athleticism that kid had, he really hasn't done anything. I remember all the USC people claiming how much better he was than Berry and would amount to so much more at the next level. That was a bust.

Compare their stats and it's even more funny.

Eric Berry:
1 year:
92 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 FF, 4 INT, 9 PD

Taylor Mays
2 years:
48 tackles, 1 FF

Plus, I found it funny when Pete Carroll didn't even pick him up in the 2010 draft, he got Earl Thomas with the Seahawks 2nd pick.

Yeah, it was apparent early on that Mays was lacking ball skills. I said it his sophomore year, that Carroll should throw him in at OLB. Would've been better for their team and his NFL future. I bet he could've been a top 20 pick at OLB.

He's been playing better lately, actually starting now. However, I agree he was over-hyped. I hope he pans out though for the Bengals sake.
