Taylor Mays or Eric Berry?

Because Mays appears that way. Berry is 6'0 200. Mays is 6'3 225. Mays is 6'4 225 according to some sites. He also has a 33 inch vertical. He is built like a bona fide mutant. Mays hits harder IMO, but Berry is more of an instinctive football player.

I understand Mays' size, and by no means would I want to be hit by him either. All I'm saying is Berry has made a name for himself as a hard hitter, too. The Moreno hit, the Maze hit, the hit on the Wisconsin QB at the goal line... he's no slouch on hard hits. Then when you add his INTs and ridiculous return yardage / yardage per INT, to me it's Berry by a somewhat comfortable margin.

There's an ESPN.com column on the top 10 players who have no shot at winning the Heisman, which I'm sure most of you have read. It lists Berry at #1 and says he is better at his position than any other player in the country is compared to the 2nd best player at that position.

I guess we'll just wait and see who has a better 2009-10 to really see who's better.:good!:

Mays is bigger and maybe a better athlete but Berry is a far superior football, even though he's a year younger. Everyone says how Mays is a huge hitter and he his, but Berry is a very underrated big hitter, and he led the NCAA in interceptions. IMO theres no argument. The only reason Mays gets all the hype he does is because of upside imo.

This shouldn't even be a discussion. Berry makes plays. Mays makes about 2 every 5 games. Berry is a gamechanger. Mays is a big hitter at USC. Mays without USC wouldn't be in this discussion. Berry without the Vols would still be the best safety in the nation. My thoughts on it.
