Clearly the pre-season Berry v. Mays debate has been settled. Berry is clearly the best DB in college football.

I wonder two things:

If Berry runs well, does a team make a lock down corner out of him (per NFL draft analysts) or leave him as a ball hawking Ed Reed/Sean Taylor type?

If Mays displays his freakish athleticism, but track record of looking lost in coverage, is he the next Urlacher-type convert?

Thoughts?

Eric's players are Ed Reed and Sean Taylor (RIP). I hope he gets his chance to emulate them in the NFL.

Playing Eric at middle linebacker would be a shameful waste of his talents.

Mays - Ronnie Lott big hitter

Berry - Ed Reed playmaker (who can also hit)

I expect both to remain at safety at the next level.

I think EB be will be like John Lynch. Someone they can move to different places on the field. Kind of like Monte is using him now and how monte used lynch when he was with the bucs

mays made a huge mistake not going pro last year.
Agreed. Lost a lot of potential money.

... Except I did get the pleasure of seeing him react a bit to the guy next to me at Autzen who cleared a pint of whiskey during the 2nd quarter ("Hey Mays! Enjoy the Sun Bowl [expletive deleted]!")
