I think he "can", But at this point it's still a higher risk than somebody with more head coaching experience who did well

Just not sure id want somebody learning on the job

Last 5 years: 8-4, 9-4, 8-5, 9-4, 4-1

We already have a coach that can win 8 to 9 games a year........why do we want another one?

Last year Louisville has the best player in the country, and had a great offense.....and lost 4 games including a loss to KY.

Petrino would do great at UT, if he is clear of any issues he deserves a chance to get back on the big stage. He can win in the SEC, he knows what it takes. I wouldn't be upset at all with giving him a chance. He should be chomping at the bit to show what he can really do, and would have the drive. I would pay him good but have clauses to guard against trying to bolt and getting into trouble. But yes he deserves a chance, and at some point he is going to get it. He would be on my shortlist. GBO!!!!!

Let's wait on that FBI investigation to close before we go throwing money at Petrino. It would be a huge mess we're he to come here and then have the Feds after him...

did not mention because he started his HC career at Tennessee and was an assistant at Tennessee before he became the HC.

Not saying I should not have put him in, but it could have been argued.

Only a minor prob. he has no head coaching resume. We can not go down a road filled with potential pot holes before we ever.move the car.

USC isn’t making the playoff now. Darnold is likely coming back for one season so Tee isn’t moving for another year.

Only way I want him now is if we hired someone like Les Miles and we got Tee as OC

Tee is almost there. He may be here SOON. He just needs a little more time. I'm unsure, and I'm sure many others are unsure, of how he would work out as a head coach. That's all. He said some smack about UT, but that could be healed if he came here and actually won games. He seems like a guy that can over come, and he can probably recruit pretty good. He has more coaching experience then Jim Bob, sooooo.... It's a matter of do you trust him to take over a head coaching position in such a high octane pressure cooker situation and hold together recruiting too? Good chance he doesn't succeed in this situation because of all that would be on his plate, but maybe not. It's just not the time to take a chance on someone is all. Venables is the one exception to that rule because he SHOULD have been head coach a while back already. He can actually do it.

I’m pretty sure he’s given statements .... through multiple outlets... that would confirm he is indeed anything BUT a Tennessee man
