Was talking to a coach and teacher at Alcoa who had some interesting insight to some of the kids who are in college now.

Said Brandon Warren was homesick immediately after moving to FSU. He kind of implied but wouldnt come out and say that Warren should have stayed at FSU. He said Warren and most of the players thought the OC last year was terrible and he had lost the players before the season started. Said Warren had high hopes for Kiffin and hoped to be more involved in the passing game this season.

He said Rae Sykes was very immature coming out of HS, but has since matured unbelievably both physically and mentally but again like Warren was a good kid.

Dustin Lindsay was never going to go anywhere in college as he is never going to be the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Randall Cobb is a superstar when he comes home to Alcoa, seems to be more popular than the Vol kids.

Tyler Robinson is the next stud player out of Alcoa, doesnt know if he leans to the Vols or not!

Nothing was said about the Tyson kid? He looked awesome in the state championship game. He will be a junior this coming season

Cobb is a superstar. I guess his career would end up with being a part of the longest losing streak in college football (27 by the time he graduate, right?), like most other Kentucky SUPERSTARS

I still don't think Warren fits in well with CLK's offense as a tight end.

He will either be a hybrid TE/slot WR, or we might even see him on the Defensive Line...

:) well my initial question was why do these Alcoa kids struggle to get into college? This coach is also their former english teacher

My intention was not to blame you to bring this up. I actually really like to hear what others say about local players. My point is that UK has to do a better job in competing against us, and that's it...

I am also confused about how and when he became a superstar?

A guy called in on the radio the other day and stated that three Aloca 8th graders have already been getting letters from UCLA. Any scoop?
