The CBS announcers on the Bama-LSU just agreed that we don't have the talent any more. We are apparently very disciplined in practice too. You heard it here. We don't have the talent to beat a powerhouse like Wyoming. I think we'd have better results if we replaced our entire offensive team and coaches with UT-Martin's. They had a pretty good day against Auburn.

Exactly. And its hard to win games when you dont have a QB who can make even ONE play, and receivers that couldnt start on ANY other SEC team (excluding GJ).

And I agree with that. I don't like the star rating system, but we are not recruiting mostly 2 and 1 star starters here...

The star system does seem shaky sometimes, but it does give some kind of idea about the skill of players a team is receiving. The players UT is recruiting appear to have lost talent from the days before they were at UT.Strange.

Agree 100%. All you have to do is compare our players to the others in the SEC. Body type, speed, height, weight, etc., we don't have it anymore. Look at a late 90s UT game and see what our players look like.

I think the future looks bright. A new direction is exactly what the program needs. Maybe get some swagger back?

I think we have pretty good talent. I think development, lack of discipline, and the lack of decent QB's have hurt us.

Think about guys like Eric Parker and David Martin. These were guys who were never stars but have had successful NFL careers. None of the receivers on our team will be able to scratch what those two have done.

Why is it that these media types outside the program always seem to know what is wrong with the program? We follow it day-to-day and have a pretty good idea what is going on, even if we are not "insiders".

Well, IMO, when Gary Danielson said we did not have the talent level we used to (which we don't) that was the easy thoughtless answer after some silence when Verne stopped. He didn't touch any of the more detailed issues. Moved right on to the task at hand. I think it refers back to them not following the program everyday.

Maybe our Varsity should play Hargrave Military Academy on Thursday. Or just have another Orange and White game. It would be about the same competition.
