Probably the greatest thing to happen was the Schiano debacle. To those who'd been sleepily daydreaming that UT admin was on the same page as them as far as adding a burst of adrenalin to the program, they've been rudely awakened. It's becoming apparent that we are sunk deeper than any Titanic ever pretended to be. There is only one coach available who can provide that immediate jolt of adrenaline; we have a history together; does John Currie even have Lane Kiffin's telephone number? Does John Currie know the value of swagger to a football program. I do. It's priceless.

Swagger is like coming out of a locker room juiced and hyped up.

It’s great for about 15 minutes.

After that, talent and execution take over and if all you’ve got is juice you get exposed

Don't know about that. In a conference of equal talent, Lane Kiffin from Last Chance U and his swagger infused players are currently on an eight game winning streak. Just saying.

Swagger is "believing" you will win. It's a crap load better than "hoping" you can win. Florida beat us "Umteen" times with a crappier team because of their swagger.

There are many issues with Lane. He is a permanent adolescent and not a solid representative of a university. Sure he would like a big paycheck at an SEC school but would he settle down and actually build a solid program? His flame out at USC was really something - he loses a few games and becomes a head case. The man needs to work in Conference USA awhile and establish that he indeed can manage himself and a program. Let him drive the Taurus awhile before giving him the keys to a Porsche. You never hear any USC fans having longings and heart palpitations for Lane Kiffin. The mindlessness of UT fans sometimes is beyond comprehension.

"The Trojans lost their first two conference games of the 2013 season against Washington State and Arizona State, making Kiffin's record 4–7 in his last eleven games. On September 28, 2013, after the 62–41 loss to Arizona State, USC Athletics Director Pat Haden fired Kiffin hours after the game, when the team arrived back in Los Angeles at 3 a.m. Kiffin was called off the team bus that was preparing to head back to campus from Los Angeles International Airport and taken to a small room inside the terminal where Haden told Kiffin he was being dismissed. Haden supposedly met with USC president Max Nikias in the third quarter and they decided Kiffin should be terminated."

To be fair, years of talented teams coming out flat to only come back or otherwise barely beat lesser competition is why we are here.
