Surprised Dooley isn't Blaming Bush.....

At this point, does it really matter? I'm pretty sure the chances of Dooley returning for another year are slim to none. Let's move on, nothing to see here.

These days if you're honest it's considered blaming someone else.

If you want an offensive coach to coach defense ask the Eagles and see how that turned out for them.

This thread is a joke.

Lame attempt to inflame. The Dooley haters are entrenched in their position. No minds will be changed at this point. And Climer is a hack.

Don't understand why people are mad that a coach with only offense/special teams experience isn't helping coach the defense.

Come on man he is the HEAD COACH!!!!!! He should be responsible and be knowledgeable of everything. You going to me after so many years as a coach you know nothing about defence you have to understand defence to come up with offensive schemes. You guys give him credit for all the good. He doesn't even go out and recruit and you lover swear he is a top notch recruiter.

I agree the Dooley Haters and Dooley Lovers will keep their position until an annoucement saying he is gone or that he is staying.

It's a message board, people will disagree.

Imo, he should be meeting with the defensive staff and help facilitate a resolution.

being the head man you would think he would look and see where problems are and then go see what he can do to help fix. i guess helping our punter boom another 6 yarder is more important than helping your awful defense. he is very caclculating when he speaks yet he slips and says something so stupid. why admit you have not been helping the defense. really? you don't see a problem?

Biased? I didn't see anything in that article about Dooley blaming anybody. It was all Climer's take on the situation. Decent read and I agree with most of it.

I agree, it definitely seems to be biased. That being said, he is right. At the end of the day, Dooley is the HC and should be accountable for anything and everything that happens on his team, his fault or not. But he definitely wasn't shooting blame at anyone; at the absolute most he was inadvertently insinuating blame. I was definitely interested in the title of this topic because I haven't known Dooley to be one to blame anyone in specific on anything..

However, I like the hurry up offense we have and I really hope we avoid getting rid of it. It's definitely helping moving the chains. Though, I have been saying it all year: if our dang offense had more T.O.P., scoring or not, then I feel that our defense would be much more efficient.

This is exactly my point. He is the HEAD F'n COACH! It is 110% his responsibility....he is supposed to have his hands in ALL THINGS TENNESSEE FOOTBALL COACHING RELATED!

O.K. Give'em Six and DL916...On Sunday Night Football, Tony Dungy and Rodney Harrison were talking about all the mistakes the Cowboys are making in all of their losses so far this season. They both blamed it on the Jason Garrett since he was the head coach of the team and nothing seems to be getting done to fix them....but it is happening all on his watch so he was the man to blame. Listening to them talk about that subject you could simply insert Derek Dooley's name for Jason Garrett every single time during the conversation.

If those two football experts understand and get it then why can't you DL916 and Give'em Six?

Because at the end of every practice and game...he is the head coach perhaps  ?

Yep and he is responsible for the outcome. He has been involved with the defense more and more, as it points out in the article. But leave the actual coaching to the defensive coaches.

He is responsible, doesn't mean he should be back their coaching safeties. I like how you assume since I think this article is ridiculous that I support Dooley.

"On Monday, he clarified his role by saying he provides “big picture” guidance and has gotten more involved with the defense each week."
