If you had to guess who would be the sleeper team/surprise team for next season who would it be. I think all eyes are on us for next season so even if we do exceedingly well it won't be a total suprise.

A team that has been under the radar that no one is talking about is Arkansas. They might be the surprise team in the West. My guess would be them.

The only real surprise I can think of(and it's not a big one)is my thinking of Ole Miss winning the SEC WEST.

Yup, I'm glad we don't play them.

UT in the East.

Ark in the West.

I don't consider Ole Miss a sleeper or surprise if they win the west, I think they are very much a contender.

UGA if they can get past the first 3 weeks could build up some momentum going into LSU, then UT. They also are at Vandy after us, then have a week to prepare for UF, however its at UF. I highly doubt UGA gets out of the season without 3-4 losses, but their schedule is pretty favorable. Depends if they have viable replacements for Stafford and Moreno.

Florida losing more than one game or Bama just being terrible would be a pleasant surprise.

I agree with the posts above about Ole Miss. They are expected to do well this year, so it won't be a surprise if they do well.

Tennessee will surprise a lot of the fans of other SEC teams. Florida and Alabama think we will lose most of our games.

For the SECw, I will go with Arky. 5* QB and Bobby Petrino's offense=8-9 wins.

Arkansas has a chance to be real good, If they can put it all together, But I think ole miss will be better, Orgeron recruited a lot of talent while he was there!

Don't UGA and UF play in Jacksonville?

I really hate to say this, But I don`t think this will be our year in the sec. Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Florida all have more experenced talent than we do, Plus Auburn always gives us a hard time and UCLA won`t be as easy as we think. I look for 6 or 7 wins this year [ I hope I`m wrong.] I believe we are 2 to 3 years away from having the talent to play with the big boys every game. I think these coaches can and will recruit some great players and we will be a GREAT team in the near future! "GO VOLS"

hopefully one to us

Your kidding right?...It's ok to be confident but stay within the limits of reality...They are most likely going to beat the living....Uh um...You know what out of us this year...We are 2 to 3 years away from being able to think We'll beat those guys.

Arkansas is the only SEC team I expect to surprise folks in '09. I expect no opponent to be able to take a day off when they're on the field.

I don't see a surprise team in the SEC east. Unless it's Florida, if they manage to somehow lose a game.

That's what Mississippi said last year.

Florida losses three, Alabama losses 2

(I hope).

I might as well say Florida will go undefeated this year, they bring back I think everyone on that squad except Cornelius Engram and Percy Harvin, and they've recruited very well.

I don't know, I looked on UGA's athletic site, and it said it was away. Maybe you're right?

The UF / UGA game is in Jax every year. Advertised as the "World's Largest Cocktail Party".

Personally, I consider it to be the "Jacksonville Jort Expo". There is no way to describe the average, liquored-up, arrogant, ill-mannered, odiferous, Alachua County Gator fan, other than to say I'm really, really glad they live there, and not here.

Go Vols.

Don't have much faith in our new team, do you??

Well, after seing all of the 7 win season/gunna take three years posts, I'd say the Vols. If our own fans (and I am not busting on ya'll because each of you sees the bright future and is probably far more realistic than I) don't think we will make some SERIOUS noise, then you can bet the house that the other SEC and national teams are going to be completely surprised!!!

I think UT has a good a shot as anyone to knock off UF this season. They are not robots. We have a chance to win....maybe not a great chance, but a chance. Rivalry games can get unexpected sometimes.

My darkhorse in the SEC (if you can consider them this, since they arguably have the most talent in the SEC) is actually the LSU Tigers. I see them bouncing back big time this year...... but their offense better score points. God knows they wont be getting off the field on 3rd downs very much! :)

Expectations will always be high for LSU and the talent pool that they have created. The West kingpins are Bama and LSU right now. Ole Miss is hyped up this year, and so they have not flown under the radar at all. I still think tha they will not live up to their expectations at all.

Arkansas has a strong coach who needs the right QB to implement his O. They might be able to surprise some folks this year. No one is really talking about them as a contender, they are really totally over looked this year. That puts them in a pretty good position to put some unexpected wins on the competition.

Ole piss will do a belly flop. They'll be good, but they're not winning the west, forget about it. Either us or carolina will be a surprise in the east, carolina has a chance to be good if their qb seperates his head from his arse. Vandy's, well vandy and kentucky will win just enough for the bluegrassers to keep thinking rich brooks is a good coach, the joke is on them.
