How many sunglass aficionados do we have out there? :matrix:

I'm in the market for a new pair. What brand/style do you sport?

non prescription, Maui Jim is the way to go (best lenses and 360 deg polarization process).

I wear prescription lenses and Maui Jim does them, but not in enough of a wraparound frame for my golf game. I have found a couple of Bolle styles that work with prescription lenses, but aren't the garish looking Oakley style.

i... just.... can't... pass this up

Spied a little thing and I followed her all night
In a funky fine levis and her sweaters kind of tight
She had a west coast strut that was as sweet as molasses
But what really knocked me out was her cheap sunglasses

I actually prefer Oakleys. Had a free pair of Bolles last year with my internship, but the emblem fell off the side and they were uncomfortable.

I have three pairs of Stussy Hunters. They are discontinued, so I buy former display models off e-bay.

I'm currently sporting gunmetal frames with polarized lenses. My favorites are the chrome frames with mirrored lenses though. :)

I have or had:

RayBan - aviators, and a sort of Men in Black style
Revo
Oakley - blades
Bolle - Zuma (my favorites - they are discontinued now but I found some closeouts at Campmor for $30)
Serengetti - nice but I don't like the tint.

I prefer the Bolle - super lightweight, good lens, comfortable.

I generally prefer the gray/green (neutral) lens to amber, red, etc. I like to see outdoor colors naturally, not enhanced.

I always knew you were a high roller BPV...

Yes - especially if it's very bright out. Otherwise, they distort the color a bit more than I'd like.

Mine are wire frame so they get a bit uncomfortable after a while. I've had them for about 10 years now.

I think I'll wear them today

I go cheap now.....tired of losing or breaking them.....

Same here. I went the Oakley route a couple times and the last time I got pissed playing poker and threw them and they broke. I personally need things that require no personal responsibility on my part...

I've had the opposite experience - when I went cheap, I always lost them, sat on them, etc.

Since I went expensive, I've only broken one pair (in my golf bag).

I've had my Rayban aviators since 1982! My Oakley's since 1986, etc. etc.

Yea but you can go through 100+ cheap pairs before you've paid off an expensive pair.

The aviators that I'm wearing right now I literally got at the dollar store and I have actually had someone ask me where I got them before.

My next pair will definitely be polarized. The Bolles were uncomfortable around my ears, but I'm pretty sure we were given some of the cheapest Bolles they'd give out. We got them mainly because they were a sponsor and as part of the contract we couldn't be in any other brand of sunglasses. However, they were polarized and it made a world of difference.

I currently have a pair of Oakley Fives. If the sun is up I have to wear shades or else I get migranes.

you can get all of the Bolle and Serengeti stuff you want from OpticsPlanet.com. Polarized or non at some very good prices.

They'll do almost any of them in prescription as well, again polarized or non.
