Just stupid.
She was never on the hot seat with anyone that mattered. A few spoiled fans would have put her on there, but no one of importance to the program would have ever thought of putting a legend on the hot seat just because we hadn't won the NC in a number of years.
She made mention of the fact that she was having to constantly answer questions about why she hasn't won one since 1998. She was feeling the pressure...
IMO, the reason Pat hadn't won a title in that time is because she made women's basketball that much stronger.
15 teams may "care" about Wbball, but in reality, only about 5 (in a good year) really have a chance.TVA, her lack of domination can be credited to having it go from 2 teams that care about women's bball to about 15.
Obviously, you missed the first 2 rounds of the women's tourney. All of the top 1-2 seeds rolled to big victories over clearly outclassed teams. The smallest margin of victory I think was 15 pts.
On any given year, Tennessee is always in the top 4 programs in the country, most years, there are only 2 teams that really have a legit shot at winning every year... Connecticut and Tennessee. You may get the occasional Maryland or Purdue to pop up every now and then, but for the last 20 years, it has been dominated by 2 teams. 12 of the last 21 titles have been either won by UTenn or UConn. 9 of the last 13 by these two teams.
Please... the game has not been significantly improved talentwise.
