Don't get me wrong, I don't have an issue with this. But can you imagine if a male coach said maybe one of his female coaches could go find a man?!? The PC police would make an immediate arrest!

Yeah . . . I didn't see anything in the article stating that Summitt bought the cars.

Yeah... I thought they were leases (for the summer or until the weather is bad)... that was what the first female to receive an athletic scholarship from UT said when she was representing the Mercedes dealership...

Giving somebody a car lease for the summer is like giving somebody a trip to the beach and making them stay in a Motel 6 10 miles inland. It's just not quite as cool as it first seems.

Umm ... This is pure speculation on my part, but I don't think Dean is looking for *women*.

What I meant was that this is a female coach saying a male coach should find a woman. A male coach that said 1 of his female coaches should find a man would catch hell.

I'm not disputing that. I just saw that comment of Summitt's and something about it seemed a little off... :whistling:

Hello all,

New to the boards. Hit the reply button and I see it makes me insert a new title instead of keeping the old one...

Anyway, I too read somewhere - but I cannot remember where - that there was only a year's lease on the cars.

Probably an advertising deal... I assume she checked it with her superiors to make sure there was no conflict of interest... but Pat being the total professional I'm sure she did.
