I'm super, SUPER excited to see the Pauldo sisters energy in orange. I see them as the type of player Pat would have loved with their we-won't-be-outworked-type attitudes both on the court and in the classroom.

That said, as with ALL freshmen, I still expect there will be growing pains coming into the SEC right out of high school. That's to be expected.

Come on, November! 🧡🏀

From what I’ve seen and heard from my sources I would put Tennessee at #4 above LSU and Duke. Tennessee last season under arguably the best new head coach on the P4 level implemented a system with a roster that wasn’t 100% fit to the system as well as players that had to learn an entire new system after being in college 3 or more years. We know everything they accomplished which was a great year 1, retaining the core and adding the #1 transfer portal class and #1/#2 high school class is why every college sports media site is putting the LVs in the Top 10. Yes we know five of them are freshmen this is the one and only forum where certain posters focus on classifications… the reality is they are better than or as good as the freshmen from the past five years.
So the media got it right this time Tennessee is loaded. That’s great news, however this is a Top 5 team not just a Top 10 team.

Jersey seems comfortable transitioning into the system. She probably noticed how great of a fit CKC system was for her former Ark teammate Samara Spencer and has seen how it could benefit her style of play. For similar player comparisons, she definitely has the skillset of Jillian Hollingshead a former LV versatile big that can stretch the floor on offense and defend multiple positions on defense. Jersey has had some good success starting during her college career and could be a breakout star this season.

Jersey is gone be a problem defensively my goodness didnt know she could guard perimeter player that well

Well, I guess I'll use my "way before pre-season fan gush over just one tiny clip" to geek out over all the little things that impressed me about Jersey's block of Kaniya's layup. This won't interest everybody, for sure.

Here's a longer clip that shows Jaida on Kaniya and Jersey on Ruby in addition to the Jersey on Kaniya play.

I wonder if Talaysia has begun to put more arc on her shot? Couldn't tell from that video.

And I wonder how the refs are going to call traveling this season? In Kaniya's one-on-one in the lane against Jaida, Kaniya clearly traveled, jumping to a second pivot foot to break free for her shot. Jaida had the shot well defended once she had forced Kaniya to "commit" to that first pivot foot.

The custodians of the game really need to take a stand on this. One-on-one defense ceases to exist when players can travel freely.

(The concept of "commit" in sports in general seems to have taken on a flexibility once reserved only for subatomic particles.)

Someone knows a bit about the mechanics of this game ... impressed

Attacking the forward foot
Rotating the body with the drop-step
Launching a block from the weakside foot

well done in the explanation

Thanks. Good to know I haven't forgotten everything yet!

Maybe the most impressive was that Jersey didn't turn and sprint for a spot by the basket to defend, but was confident from her first move that she was not going to get beat to the basket, and could make a different play on the ball. (I hope that's a demonstration of Jersey's speed and not Kaniya's)

For sure it shows that they're taking the measure of each other's game. That'll be a necessity in this system, with so many combinations of players destined to share the court throughout the season.

I think I'm more excited about the LV team's development than even the football team's.

i was and am 100 behind Jersey's acquisition
what I am wondering is what the first two sets of player "bigs" will occupy the posts on the floor together,,,or will Kim (Jenna) work them arbitrarily

Barker 6'4"
Wolfenbarger 6"5"
Zee 6'4"
Latham 6"2"

I'm thinking
Barker and Zee
Wolfenbarger and Latham
