True - but hoping for failure is a sad space to live…
Viewing the outlook with honesty and reality is not 'hoping for failure'. Thats a false choice and exactly how the Negaval trope gets thrown around.
What is a "Polly Purebred"?
Lol I'm showing my age. She's Underdog's girlfriend. In this context, its anyone who ain't them dirty dogs fm last year.

Zero discussion about the incoming team’s defensive abilities. That will be the tell.
☝️100%. The “other” side of the game is the big unknown at this point of course, “other“ being defensive and rebounding abilities of the players/team. I think it is safe to say this year’s LV team will shoot the ball much better from the perimeter and charity stripe this season. Will most of these new sharpshooters also be good-great in defense? That’s the part I keep saying we will just have to wait and see on.

Why don't you go ahead and block me or just completely F off.

Just yesterday there was a discussion around "Trashing? What trashing?" I was 'speaking on behalf' of those who have posted they think unnecessary trashing has gone on

Also WTF are you hysterical about some threatened report? I have never reported anything, never would and was only talking about the damage the negativity toward transferring players causes among recruit families.

But in the end this is my fault for even coming back to post again, i'm fully aware what the forum you now run has become.
Now Now children...

Suspension? WTF. We all saw Mia take the blows to the head.

This is an example of why some of us are so sick of the trashing of the last set of players in ways both big and small. I know it's done as a flex for the current roster, a way to show their saintliness compared to the last bunch. But I promise this will not end well for the program.
Why would anyone care at all about the previous players I don't wish I'll will towards them but I also don't wish them success. Yard either a LVFL or not. Those players are not Lady Vols.

I didn't think last year would be a great season bc our team was so young especially after Ruby being kicked off. Couple that with the fact that our veterans from last season were not good leaders and you will get an underwhelming season.

I think this team will be better from a veteran and leadership point of view. They should be much better offensively, play faster, and not give up as easily. I am very excited about this season. so many unknowns and potential that I can't wait to see how it unfolds.

if it is another disappointing season, then we will be looking for a new coach. I cheering for Kim and I hope she shuts up all the doubters. losing Avery Mills but hopefully it won't be as detrimental as losing Ruby. Go Lady Vols!!!

You sure? Three of them, including Coop, graduated and signed the pole. They are most definitely LVFL.

But ya’ll carry forth the vendetta.

That was never a team that played together to be one. I agree if you leave to play against the Lady VOLS no way you can be LVFL no matter the reason.

I liked Cooper while she was here. She met the criteria to sign the pole and I don't have a problem with that. She transferred out to a hated SEC rival. She is dead to me now. No different than To’ot’o when he transferred to Bama. You are welcome to however you want to feel about her.

I never said Mia’s absence from the floor was attributable to anything other than a concussion. The attribution was clearly misguided and less than specific, preceded by praise for herI

You’re going to accuse me of taking a Jumperesque position? That should surely rally the troops in a resounding call to arms.
I know this is not popular but I thought Coach Jumper's post were entertaining. You had to take him as the narcissist about himself that he is but it was still comical at times. Beats all these 'serious' argumentative posts now. Where are you Coach???

I find it odd how now a certain group, albeit a small one keeps speculating on Avery Mills being sideline for the offseason.
Nobody even knows what the injury or recovery timeline is but keep speaking on the situation as if they have information.
Also, if she plays this year or not it is not the main determining factor on the outcome of the season so I absolutely see no reason in why anyone is declaring it a setback or anything. Prior to her injury I absolutely saw zero posters labeling Mills as this great addition to Tennessee. I hope she makes a full recovery and would not be surprised if she plays this season. The report did not state in any way that she was out for the season.

Heh, no. I'm good. Someone whose narcissism led them to become so demanding and insistent that the Lady Vols program had to establish policy for dealing with him.

I can agree he was entertaining - after a fashion - but not in a way that made things better. More in a way that sought to create controversy as a means to get attention. He loved getting to post the "I won't apologize for caring so darn much" stuff. The false humility. Plus the years of "I can be there tomorrow." Posted on a forum filled with people who were never and will never be the staff at Tennessee. Yeah, just try to figure that one out. Exhausting.

Anyway. I don't begrudge him, he was, maybe is, still a fan, I'm not here to gatekeep that. His name will live on here for some years. He got what he wanted, or at least, he got as much as he was going to get with his approach. Whatever else he wanted, this forum wasn't the place to get it. So, just ... don't ... say his name three times in a row. 🙏

Hilarious you consider Janniah Barker a LVFL... A one year mercenary and before you inquire I don't consider Knecht a VFL either.

Yeah, and having to even think about "who qualifies" as a VFL says a lot about how much (or perhaps, how little) the whole idea of "VFL" really is. Especially in an era where there is no such thing as long-term commitment. Hell, the only reason we even use or say VFL is that Derek Dooley came up with it as a marketing gimmick to talk about in interviews. We really don't need it. It's probably too ingrained now for people to let go of it (I hear the hosts on WNML say "VFL" all the time, for example), but at the same time ... college athletics has gone in a different direction.

Mills is a baller, she will be missed until she returns. She knows how to play the game, hoping her a speedy recovery. Very much looking fwd to watching her play.
