Here recently I have been hearing a lot of talk about coaching trees. A theory that promotes social learning. Where a person learns from watching someone else do the job. If you believe in a strong coaching tree therefore I assume you believe in social learning.

What am I getting at? I really don't know that was my prologue into the tree that is now the Tennessee Coaching family.

The information is in the following form.

Observations anyone?

One I have is that 2 of our big 3 coaches were products of the Battle reign. I'm not to familiar with it because I wasn't even thought about at the time but I heard that was some bad time round here.

I will have to get some Bill Battle stories for you guys. Give me a little time to call a few people. He was as stubborn as CPF and he had a few loose screws.

He continues to make a lot of money.

I believe one could refer to him as looooooooooooooooooaded.

Getting run out of Knoxville was the greatest thing that ever happened to him.

Sorry guys but CPF playing and coaching under BB has nothing to do with the present.

Players that played for him have a tremendous amount of respect for him.

I remember watching the Memphis game last year and the announcers talking on how Tommy West (Memphis' Coach) was still mad at Tennessee for firing him.

There's another coach that learned under Battle by the way about to get fired.

JZVOL,

I'm not trying to prove anything. I was just showing where all these guys come from. I'm just saying when you're young and play a game you see how your coach treats you and you will take the goods and weed out the bads. It's social learning. No one is born with the instinct to coach a football team. Fulmer grew up playing for and coaching under two guys that were run out of Knoxville due to stubborness. Is it really a surprise that is what's about to happen to him???

I assume, that Fulmer learned from his playing days and his early coaching career that you must have a system and stay with it come hell or high water. Never break from the system.

Instead of sitting here and having a pissing contest about who wants Fulmer gone the most I'm trying to get inside the whole thing from different view points.
