I keep hearing that Hawaii (barring a collapse v. Washington) will be the opponent in the Sugar Bowl regardless of whether it's LSU or UT. Now I can see it if LSU wins and goes, but if we win I've heard we could possibly jump to 12 in the BCS. This would probably knock Hawaii down to #13, unless there are more upsets in 1-11 this weekend.

If we win what are the chances we knock them out of the 12th spot? Also, can the Sugar still pick Hawaii even though they fall out of the top 12 or would they be relieved that they don't have to pick them up? If Hawaii is knocked out who could be our opponent be in the Sugar?

From what I've read it'll be either Hawaii or the Illinois Fighting Zookers

I'm not sure either is a good match up for our D...

well there is a lot of IFs here but I will play. :)
Ok if we beat lsu we go to the sugar bowl. Assuming Hawaii doesnt lose to washington they will likely go as well. IF washington wins Illinois could go. If we jump over Hawaii and they still win . They could still go If there are not enough eligable teams in the top 12. Florida for example will not be bcs bowl eligable beacause 2 sec teams will allready be going to a bcs bowl. GA and Hopefully UT.

Thanks. :good!: That's what I needed to know.

I think deep down I just don't want to play Hawaii. I think they are a match up disaster for us and we gain nothing really by beating them. They gain everything b/c they can claim they beat the SEC champs.

Not sure I want to play the Illini either (for the same reasons above), but if we are in the Sugar I'll be happy.

Yeah I will be happy as well if we get there.
I think we could and should beat either team if we get there. Some sites are calling for it to be us and Kansas in the Cotton bowl. That matchup worries me more than either Hawaii or Illinois.

I'm hoping its Hawaii, meaning an easy blowout win and time to relax in the Big Easy!

i'm not into rooting for easy wins in bowl games...I want the most impressive possible opponent.

Does the expansion of the BCS from the top 12 teams to the top 18 not start this bowl season? I assumed that it would...

If Tenn or LSU play Hawaii they will destroy them. Its like when the sec speed of Fla. destoyed Ohio St.
