Is it just me or does it seem this staff is already having success recruiting? I know it is early but I'm liking what I'm seeing and can't wait till they have a full recruiting cycle.

1 recruit is success? If he had 2 or more I could agree.

I think he's referring to the progress being made. We now have visits with both Carl Lawson and Vonn Bell next month. They may or may not end up at UT but getting visits from prospects that were originally thought out of reach in as short of a time frame as CBJ has had is a success so far.

I hear ya. But I think we can agree that his recruiting success will be judged by commits and on NSD.

It just seems to me that every high caliber prospect we were in on seem to be much more interested now and there are quite a few high caliber guys that had no to little interest in UT who seem to be very interested now.

It goes that way everytime we have a coaching change.

Remember that Stone was not coming to U.T. if Kiffin was here. Also, Hunter was not coming here if Kiffin had remained here. So, even Dooley was able to switch some recruits to U.T. at the last moment.

Even a blind dog will find the bone every now and then. Lol

Its just you.

We wont be able to measure his success until NSD. What you are hearing / seeing is typical. The positive is he is showing he is going to be a relentless recruiter and when he has a full staff here it could really pay off. I think you will see what he can do over the next year or so if he can keep this pace up. Any success on the field and it will only get better.

OP.... I Want to be optimistic... but please don't raise the hopes of VN collectively....

You lose one recruit and VN will call CBJ a "Loser" hire!!!

Instant gratification at its best.....

Talk about losers. There are some real losers that post on this site. Some of you are negative all the time. You must have miserable lives and you probably make the people around you miserable.

I am very hopeful and excited about CBJ. But he has a big, uphill battle ahead of him. Rivals has us #40 in the nation right now, and behind all of our big opponents in the SEC.

Progress, he is moving UT to the front of a lot of player's minds. I think his high energy will be his biggest asset.

I would say that he's doing a good job considering the circumstances. We won't know for sure until NSD but so far it looks like the staff knows what they are doing. Gotta keep building relationships.

Love the positive attitude! He's been here a week and you're disappointed we haven't landed two or three new recruits? I wouldn't expect a miracle. This year's class would be a huge success if we can hover around a top 20 finish. Most recruits are going to commit to coaches that they've formed a relationship with (which usually envolves a year or more). They're not going to be wowed to the point of committing just based on facilities, etc. on a weekend visit. The new recruit that we did land committed because of his relationship with the aurburn coach that we hired. Just trying to shed a little rational optimism on the situation.

the proof is in the pudding we will know come nsd. I expect a top 15 class would be considered a great success.
