You don’t run the other guys off, you develop them, like this coaching staff will...😘🤭🧐

I'm not sure how much "runnin' off" needs to be done with the 25 scholly limit actually being now in place.

No surprise.. Every coach runs off those who don't fit the model moving forward. Always look at 2-3 year guys who don't fit into the future plans to make a move

Running off players didn't work for Butch.

I don think it's a good approach for CJP.

There is a difference on running off and telling a player that their skill level does not fit the schemes that will be ran in the future

Seems to me that Jones had kids leaving to get away from him and look for other opportunities (Wharton, Helm, Hurd, Hendrix, etc). JP needs to “run off” kids here who won’t buy in to his program or can’t play at this level....there surely are a handful of these players on the roster at the moment and need to go for the program/team to get stronger.

He will not run them off but he will run them. If they don’t like it they can leave. Some kids were catered to. Put in the work and don’t hold others back. Pruitt will see whose not buying in quick. Go Vols!!

I believe CJP will be up front and honest with these players and recruits. I believe he is taking a different approach to recruiting that then previous coaches. He knows he can coach up a player that is committed. Unlike going all out and selling your soul for a 5* who then becomes a prima donna and disruptive force in the locker room.

He also needs the tell so of the players that they are not as good as they think they are.. Its embarrassing to see a player talk smack and then the team get crushed during the game

Shy Tuttle was always better than KM and now with better coaching Shy will be hard to handle. As long as he stay healthy

I am a big fan of Shy, but to be honest I think Shy looks better "because" of KM, taking on the double team, on most plays. Km will be a 2nd rounder, and have a fine pro career.

kmac never made it to the 'impact' type player his lofty recruiting rankings suggested he was/would be.

that said, for what he was asked to do in the defense, he did his job. and he's always graded out pretty darn well.

as good as he may/may not be perceived to be, the reality is, with our lb play, and depth issues on the DL, offenses could sell out on the DL. and the only time that wasn't a factor is when we did have difference makers at DE. once Barnett and Vareen went away, it was really all about taking out the middle of our defense, and as we saw, you could have your way with the rest of it.

and that's not to say that i think Kmac was great, and no one knew it....just that i think he's better than most anyone here knows. he'll probably be a serviceable DLmen in the NFL.
