I think we are out of money for a CB coach, I am not saying this is a bad hire but he just doesnt look like what Lane has been hiring. I dunno???

Honestly I heard mostly that he was a good recruiter, but most UF fans didn't care for him as a position coach.

However, Gran is highly thought of as a position coach. Around Auburn...and the southeast.

Well, I think most felt like getting a coach from UF is always good, and his recruiting was the priority one, after losing Trooper, many felt we took a hit in the recruiting area. But, your can't compare Gran's resume to Draytons. This is a monster staff with recruiters out the ying yang. Gran, as been posted already, is a solid recruiter, but probably the best RB coach around, and has the names to back it up. If we lose Brown so be it. When Patrick Turner went off to USC, everyone thought that was the end of the world, but PT was a solid reciever, but not a game changer like many thought he would be coming out of High School.

if Brown dumps us because of Drayton...oh well...

getting Garza/Gran/Wilson will get us guys of Brown's stature and higher...

don't sweat it...

it was a joke. relax. I was just mocking the people who are saying that Tennessee is racist by having an all white staff.

It's not UTs fault that the really good coaches available right now have been white...all the AA coaches are being held onto for PR reasons. I know you were kidding Zeppling...I was just stating this for the record.

And Lane went after a good number of other AAs. However, after landing Thompson, I'm glad we missed out on Garner because LT is a push recruiting wise but Thompson/O is a better front 7 coaching tandem than Garner/O would have been. Like I said, no reason to freakout because we missed on Garner. It's much better to wait it out and see the end product.

Yeah, if we could have pulled Croom for OC/OL or RBs, then that would have been a solid pickup. Or perhaps trade Cregg for Garner at TEs. It's good to have balance between huge hires and good hires.
