Stop The Kiffin Talk

He would abandon us and quit the moment a more comfortable situation arose regardless of what it was.

He's already done this a whole group of times. Check out his record.

He is exactly what he appears to be: an opportunist with no loyalty whatsoever.

You can seldom be in more danger than to be in a position of need and, in the process, fail to overlook dangers.

Do NOT pursue Kiffin.

Why the he-- would Kif come back here?? Money?? Likely if or when he leaves Ole Miss, our money will not be as great as he will get. Why would he come back to a program at the same level as Ole Miss. How often do people make lateral career move? No, I feel he will move to a higher level than our beloved Vols.

It doesn’t matter if we pursue Kiffin or not. He already has what he wants. He is a Head Coach at an SEC school with an annual opportunity to battle and hopefully trip Saban. He receives almost the same pay as he would at UT for a lower expectation of success. Any move to UT would be, in his eyes, a lateral move at best. I know we all see UT as still a premier destination and it IS still a very good berth at which to land; but in the world of coaching, it is Not the Dream destination we all wish it were. Kiffin would have no real incentive to turn down what he currently has for a second go around at a UT gig with a very high risk to reward ratio.
The difference with Freeze is that he probably is looking for a ticket back into the SEC so UT makes sense in his case. Kiffin is already back in the Club and therefore doesn’t

Love what you say about the Kiff situation. The Freeze thing may be right too, but I don't think the school or the money power will take him on.

So you are just talking/arguing for the sake of one or both...

Kiffin is nothing special.

There’s several options out there who has more potential here.

He obviously didn’t want to be here so not sure why some of you keep beating a dead horse.

I'm not the one that's on the fire Pruitt wagon just yet...close but not yet.

My first wishlist would be Kiffin or Freeze.

I seriously doubt he'd leave again but I'm not gonna turn down a good coach because insecurities that he may leave. That's any good coach.

You can even argue Mike Hamilton was the one who got this mess started.

Patterson had legitimate interest in the job but Hamilton didn’t even bother to interview him.

He was told he was too much of a football coach to them.

The level of stupidity this program has caused over the years is mind boggling.
So did Brian Kelly....He even said he expected to be named Tennessee head coach when they hired Kiffin.

I look at Kiffin like I do Bruce Pearl. Every so often, a coach and a school get together and magic happens. He may make things happen at Ole Miss but, he knows the players he really needs will come to UT.

Yeah, that's the thing. It seems so illogical, so impossible, until you think it through. It could be a disaster due to old grudges (as if we haven't had a few of those already), but it could also be a match made in heaven. It just makes too much sense to not happen, once you really think about it.

Kiffin - with the right oversight and coaching staff, would be a world-beater.

I do not think that Kiffin -> Knoxville is a good move for Kiffin. He has all that he needs at Ole Miss. It's a little crazy, but the lower pressure works to his advantage. He can do more there, AND stay longer as coach when he's not doing so great.
