I gave Dooley, Butch, and now Pruitt a fair chance to prove themselves when they were first hired and what did I get in return?

What did the fanbase get in return? Not a damn thing except the same predictable crap that keeps being showed on the football field.

Slow, lack of energy & focus, constantly missing assignments, getting pushed around on both sides of the ball, I mean what else is there to say?

Pruitt looks completely lost right now and doesn’t seem to have an answer for his team’s performance against Georgia St.

Coming from a huge formal sunshine pumper, sometimes you have to stop being hard headed and accept what’s happening right now in front of you. I’m sick & tired of having false hope everytime football season comes around.

All I see is a weak minded football team that has no heart or the willingness to win. Pruitt is acting the same way the players are right now. That’s not a good look at all.

Spin it however you want it but it can’t always be the fans’ fault for wanting better results. The coaches and players have to take responsibility for their performance against Georgia St.

It is not out of the question that maybe Pruitt just had that one big brain fart that everyone has at least once in their career and this was a one time fluke. I haven't totally given up on the man quite yet. But if we don't see a total 180 in a lot of areas by BYU then the writing is on the wall.

But Pruitt has used up all his passes as far as I am concerned. He is under the microscope big time and he has to show people something impressive in six days.

What makes it so bad is there is no real leadership anywhere in the football program. From the HC to the team, not a single ounce of passion. Remember when Tebow cried at a press conference and apologized for how he played an GUARANTEED it wouldn’t happen again? Well, it didn’t. Hate him as a Gator but freakin love the dude as a leader.

No one was pissed off yesterday! No fire. Nothing. Just bland coach speak and that pisses me off! Just show some freakin’ heart! Someone please. Is there not a single leader in the locker room?

Very soft, very weak, no heart, no pride and no fight. That’s a hard way to win football games.

As a fan, it’s very hard to watch. The only thing that makes me feel ok are like minded fans who feel compelled to watch too. This includes former players who are on Twitter saying the same thing.

Definitely the fanbase's fault. It looked like a majority of the stands were empty by halftime. Fans gave up on the team as the team gave up on themselves. You panic and you set an environment of panic in the team when it isn't necessary. Happens time and time again.

Anyone who expected fans to sit there and watch that crap show has to be delusional. I used to question why fans would leave a game early but over the last 5 years or so I question why anyone would sit and watch till the end.

To play the devils advocate here. Had the fans turned out like in times past, maybe 100,000 fans cheering for you, would have possibly pumped them up to get a stop or 2. Imagine if the same crowd that cheered there during the Oklahoma game had turned out for this last game. The crowd could've willed them to win maybe?

I wasn't there. I'm in Washington state. I would've been if I could've. That's what Neyland is known for. But I guess even in the past it still wasn't enough against Oregon or even Checkered against Florida.

You can't be serious. You want to blame the one paying to go over and over again and not the ones being paid millions to not get beat by Ga State?

Seriously anyone thinking the fans have any factor in what we saw need to get over themselves real bad.

No, just no. There is no excuse for losing to GA effin State. None. On talent alone we should’ve beat them by 20, but apparently this team, players and coaches thought that all they had to do was roll the helmets out there and they’d win.

Well they didn’t and this team is the freaking laughingstock of college football. Hell GA State made a damn tshirt commemorating the win.

How effin stupid do you gotta be to blame the fans?

$0.02..... I don't have the answer, but suggest that some folks surpass their level of competence. To put plainly, you can be a 5* defensive coordinator and a 2* HC. It's imminently possible. This latest bit with CJP, albeit shocking, may be a significant indication. I say that as, while he tries not to say much, he is beginning to contradict himself. If not maybe he is shying away from core beliefs. All of which makes me think he doesn't have a solid foundation as a HC. If not, you'll never succeed......sorry. Say what you want, but I've always respected Chavis.......never wanted to be a HC, stayed a DC. Was/is pretty good, until 3rd down. But still I respected him for never going for HC.

The players get paid jack squat, but they feel the panic creep in when they look around their stadium and it has emptied out in the second half of a game that is within one score. They hear the chirps, it gets louder inside their head, and once doubt sets in you are fighting an uphill battle.

So many will admit homefield advantage is a real thing, considering it makes a difference in the point spread. Yet, people don't want to admit that fans can not only have a positive impact, but a negative one as well.

Your post might be valid if this was a game against Fla or Ga, but sorry, this was against Ga State. The fans were right.

So if the fans had stayed Tennessee wouldn’t have been down 15 to Georgia State with seconds to go?

Huh.......I never made the connection. Sorry guys, my bad, it’s our fault. Stop those “fire Pruitt” threads at once. Let’s give him a slight bump in pay because we sabotaged his opener, show up in full force and Tennessee will be bowling within 5 years or so.

Im not saying we would have won, but I do believe it contributes in some way. Regardless, this fanbase goes bipolar from one game to the next. There is loyalty, but it seems like it comes from immature children who complain and cry at first sight of adversity.

We beat BYU, UTC, then roll into swamp and beat Florida people on here will be mocking JG in 1st round of the NFL draft...mark my words.

Take no offense from me as I totally get it.

But from what everyone has been going through and from the team played Saturday........no one can blame anyone for leaving. That was simply horrible to watch and heartbreaking for fans.

On a loyalty stand point most of us have been fans for years, even decades. Us loyal fans have bought tickets, bought merchandise, driven hours to watch the team play, and done so through crap for over a decade.

Heck it’s time for the loyal fans to be outraged, and demand better, and keep doing it until something changes.

I don't blame those who stayed for the majority of the game and even left when it was a 2 score game...but there were many empty seats in the third when the game was 17-14, 17-21
