Damn... the Dow was up 500 points at the tail end of the session. Then hemorrhaged near 200 points in the final 15 minutes.

Some serious profit taking.

Yup... frigging guys taking profits and using fancy algorithms to line their pockets. But that is the game in town, I play and hang on for the long term.

No. US has enough to meet her needs with shale technology. China's economy is cooling down. Too many well armed interests won't allow large scale disruption to outflows in the ME. If Iran ever learns to play nice there will be even more supply. If Venezuela ever gets their **** together there will be even more supply.

The ME is always a hot mess.

This is the question. I heard a ME expert on a podcast say the situation is more unstable than the market is pricing. However she may not be factoring slowing demand and supply elsewhere.

With each passing day the ME loses its ability to throw a fit and roil the markets. With steady efficiency gains in shale production they’ll either need to learn to play nice or deal with becoming increasingly irrelevant.

Since this is in the politics section... Today Herr Zuckerberg is walking into congress to testify. (Why anybody GAS what that asshat has to say is beyond me, but...) Being that he is a flaming red diaper doper baby socialist, how will he react if Pocahontas is the Socialist nominee when one of her biggest campaign items would be to break up his company? Wouldn't that be quite the quandary for him?

I'm aware, I see it as a buying opportunity. Bitcoin went on sale this morning.

It's unfortunate that Facebook's Libra was even called a cryptocurrency, it wasn't anything like Bitcoin. Libra is tied to fiat, where BTC isn't.
