I heard on sports radio on the way home from work that there is NO buyout clause on Saban's contract. So if (when) another school wants him and if (when) Saban wants to leave, it will costs no money.

Props to Saban for getting that worked in there in a day and age where the buyout clauses are getting huge. Its setting up perfectly for his eventual departure three years from now.

Why leave Bama when you are by far the highest paid coach in the nation? Doesn't he stand to make around 3.5 mil/year?

Bama has obviously shown a willingness to pay top dollar, and I don't see them losing Saban over money. That leaves NFL dreams which have probably already been squashed....and I don't think they'd take him back anyway.

Lack of a buyout is basically meaningless when your employer is paying you $32 million over 8 years. Get used to Saban in Crimson for about 7-8 years minimum.:bad:

Seems the Bammers do about as well in contract negotiating as they do in personnel decisions. First they fire a coach off the hip without any prior research into HC intrest/availability, then they allow a snake they stole from the Dolphins to maneuver them into a contract situation where he basically is telling Alabama....I'll coach here as long as it's in my intrest to., and when that changes I'll drop you like I did the Dolphins.

I could care less about Saban and his contract. He hasn't coached a game yet and his record now may be the best he has at bama .500.

Bama pays well however it is not for the reasons you think. Coaching has little to do with it. They have to pay someone a nutty amount of money just to put up with the crazy fans still under the belief that someday a coach will represent the second coming of the Bear. Is 3.5 mil a year enough to put up with the insane fan base at Bama? We'll find out.

At a charity golfing event over the weekend Nick said that he would win more championships than Coach Bryant did. And I believe him.

That is perhaps the most ridiculous post I have seen on this board... EVER. It outweighs the combined strength of every anti-Fulmer post by 'billy.

I am going to love watching little Nickie get stomped in Loserville by the Big Orange this year.

Saban will bring Bama back to SEC contention most years. Without athletic dorms, unlimited scholarships and unlimited funds from boosters (without getting busted), no head coach will ever win more than 2-3 national championships.

of course not. Saban isn't qualified to walk in Fulmer's shadow, let alone sit at the same table at the county fair.
