Stephen A Smith

Aaron Rodgers is an extremely arrogant prick. Where's the constant scrutiny of his smile and behavior?
If he acts the same way Newton does everytime he scores, he's a prick, too. Fair enough?

It happened to be black players on the Titans that took exception to Newton's antics in their game this year. Race ain't got jack to do with it. Only race-baiters like yourself try to peddle that nonsense.

Smith is a typical sports writer/news guy, he's living his childhood dreams of being a pro athlete through his interaction with athletes (same goes for guys like Skip Bayless, Greenburg etc). Most likely he was never someone who could play and was always trying to find a way to hang out with jocks. He's a blow hard and race baiter. It's embarrassing that ESPN keeps guys on like him and Skip, they really bring very little to the conversation and both are proven wrong many times. I've quit watching their show

I think SAS was actually a division two scholarship basketball player.

Exactly. Cam has already long been the bad guy. It makes it worse that he's going up against the feel good story of the decade. I think his main thing was that no one likes Cam now, just wait and see if he takes this finale away from Manning.

How funny if Manning returned another year tho lol

It would be hilarious....kinda hoping Cam wins now so ppl shut up

I stand corrected, he actually played basketball at a DII historically black college. What's really funny as while on the team he wrote an article about his Hall of Fame coach and suggested he should retire. Who does crap like this???

How is Smith wrong? I can't stand listening to him and Bayless but when you read the transcript he isn't race-baiting but pointing out the fact that most of the American public wants the storybook ending for Manning. Cam is the one that can stand in the way and is the villain in this story. He clearly and emphatically stated that race isn't the issue in this.

"Listen, I'm not getting in no black-white thing or all this other stuff," he said. "This has nothing to do with that. All I'm talking about is the love and adulation for Peyton Manning. I don't care if Peyton Manning was going up against Aaron Rodgers. It would be the same thing. If Peyton Manning was going up against Drew Brees, it would be the same thing. That has nothing to do with it.

Cam Newton will be villainized not because he's black. But because he is an extremely arrogant pr!ck, and Peyton Manning has always been a class act. Simple as that.

I don't think he is hated for being a pr!ck or even hated at all by the majority of football fans. The fans would like to see Manning go out on top with what he has been through. Nothing more. If there is a narrative and hero there has to be an antagonist and that would obviously have to be the opposing QB in this showdown. Cam is a star and the Panther fans love him.

Will Cam Newton become Super Bowl 50 villain? Stephen A. Smith will 'bet check' it happens | NJ.com

I
m sorry but Smith is an idiot

What is worse than his idiocy is that he is a pompous, egotistical talking bonehead hired by ESPN to entertain the prepubescent kindergartner audience. I wish he were as good and he thinks. Does anyone know an adult who actually watches him.[/QUOTE]
Some morons somewhere must be watching, the article says he gets $3.5 million a year. And in his own words, that's ludicrous.

The only problem I have with Skip is that he doesn't challenge SaS when he says something demonstrably stupid about race. Skip kisses his butt and often applauds him.

Skip did play SEC football so there's that

lol, I can't stand the guy but anyone saying he's the biggest racist they've ever seen doesn't get around much.

Now Bayless, I won't even listen to one word that fool has to say. At least SAS is half way intelligent.

Yeah I bet you stop watching ESPN then? oh? You wont? I thought so

Actually, unless it is a game, I don't watch ESPN. Sportscenter used to be worthwhile yrs ago but not anymore and I don't really like their studio shows.

ESPN is losing customers at an amazing clip. I think I saw something like 6 million less subscribers since last yr? I may be wrong but it is significant. Maybe they should tell their people to talk sports and less about politics etc.

I cant believe I'm even reading this thread but that couldnt be farther from the truth. Skip
Bayless - SEC football? :eek:lol:

Rafeal Palmero issued an even stronger denial than Arrieta.

Relax. Stephen A. is correct in what he said in this particular situation.

I disagree, because Smith presupposes that there might be some validity to the claim. If, and I know it's a big if, Arrieta knows he is clean, then he absolutely has the right to laugh at the questions. It is wrong to deem dominat players guilty by association just because of the Bonds/Clemens/Etc era.

Glad to see Arietta call a CLOWN like Smith out. Personally I'd like to see the 'media' get fired back at on a regular basis.. Too many of them think they are untouchable and can say whatever they want...

Really? I didn't read that. The way I understood it, he was saying that he knows of people that are talking and he knows that people are fallible.

I don't think he was accusing him of using, but was saying that he shouldn't be surprised that people are asking.

Um...no he didn't. What are you talking about? He averaged less than 2 points per game on his high school basketball team. That is the entire resume of his athletic career. The guy has made a career out of trolling LeBron. He's pathetic.
