Meh, big deal. The media created this "trash talk". I'd be willing to bet that Richardson didn't say this in a trash-talking manner. It's not like he pulled a Tiny Richardson and said of Clowney, "welcome to the circus on Oct 19" (or something close to that).

Blacksportsonline? The best thing to do is to shut up when a guy can hit contested jump shots because it doesn't matter how good you are on defense.

This is a great opportunity for Richardson. His defense is now getting noticed, and I think he came make another great argument for playing in the league if he stifles Stauskas as well.

They left out the first part of the quote where he said "He's a great player. It will be a tough cover. Their offense flows through him."

Yep, he was just referring to his defensive approach, not about the other player's ability. But of course they had to sensationalize it.

Gonna be an interesting matchup for sure! Can't wait! Got my steaks ready for the marinade, grill cleaned and ready for the fire, and I'm gonna sit back and watch a great match up. I'd be surprised if the Vols don't play well! Enjoy Volnation!

I got to watch the Iowa game again yesterday and he also sees the ball and his man better than anybody I've watched this year. And I don't mean watched for UT.

If our defensive philosophy was more jump the passing lanes, he would have had a lot more steals. imo

Has Stauskas had to play against anyone as good as Richardson on defense?

ugh. I don't like Maymon having to guard anybody out past 15 feet or so. His legs have gotten stronger and his feet are better from getting in the flow, but guys seem to hit outside shots on him because he gives them a little space so they don't go by.
Honestly, I don't know GR3's game. If he can back out to the 3 easily, that's a tough matchup for us

He only shoots 28% from 3 pt range. So that means he should go 15 for 15 against us. lol

No I am a little concerned about that matchup as well. But if Maymon dares him to shoot(GR3's percentage holds up) and UT gets good help defense they should be fine.
