Stats guys, was Justin Wilcox a good DC for us?

I seem to remember he was a promising, defensive coordinator, even though he was only here a year working for the overmatched Derek Dooley. He’s definitely on the hot seat at Cal. I’m guessing he’s a West Coast guy but it would be nice to get him back to Knoxville. We need help.

I think he was pretty good, but I think some other issues let to his release iirc.

I think Banks is doing reasonably well, he does need to replace at least one position coach on the defense (not named Garner).

Derek Mason would be a rock star at UT...He produced some fantastic defenses at Stanford....Hell he beat UT too.

Wilcox was considered a young guru for defensive co-ord. Nowadays, I'm not so sure. I do agree with the Derek Mason comments. I think he would do great here.

He never coached under Kiffin. He was Dooley's DC in 2010 and 2011. If he had stayed in 2012, Dooley would have still been our coach in 2013.
