2023 Season Thread

Last season we got close to a few records and/or a few people nearly cracked the top 10 in their statistical categories, and had a couple successes:
  • Jabari Small only needed 3 rushing TDs to enter the top 10 all-time with 22, however he only rushed for 2 TDs all of last year and ended up one short.
  • Jabari Small needed 721 rushing yards to enter the top 10, but only rushed for 475.
  • Jaylen Wright needed 1080 rushing yards to enter the top 10, and came just short at 1013.
  • Charles Campbell was close to entering the top 10 in FG% (82.4) but missed it by 1 FG, ending up at 78.3%.
  • James Pearce needed 10 sacks to enter the top 10 in single-season, but ended up with 9.5.
  • Charles Campbell tied Alex Walls and James Wilhoit at #10 in single-season FGs with 18.
  • Joe Milton tied Peyton Manning for 10th All-Time with 27 total TDs in a season after a 6-TD performance vs. Vandy.

-Dylan Sampson has cracked the top 10 all-time in single-season rushing yards with 1,230. He remains within striking distance of the all-time record.
-Dylan Sampson has also cracked the top 10 all-time in single-season rushing attempts with 220.
-Squirrel White's 6 receptions vaulted him from 11th to 7th all-time in career receptions, passing vol legends Tim McGee, Thomas Woods, Robert Meachem and Jayson Swain.

-Dylan Sampson's 22nd TD places him 5th all-time SEC history for single-season rushing TDs. Tied with Leonard Fournette.
-Dylan Sampson is now 6th all time in single-season rushing yards with 1,307. He remains within striking distance of the all-time record.
-Dylan Sampson has also reached 9th in single-season rushing attempts with 231.

Also, this, which I wasn't tracking on here...Sampson has now passed Gene McEver, who also had 2 receiving TDs and a return TD to go with his 18 rushing TDs in 1929. Sampson's 22 total TD puts him ahead of McEver for that as well!



Sampson has apparently also set a "points scored" record:

-Dylan Sampson has also reached 5th in single-season rushing attempts with 256.
-Dylan Sampson is also now 9th all-time in career rushing yards with 2,846
