It's been a long long off season so far. Most all of us are pissed about going 5-6 and now discipline problems are rearing their ugly head and none of us like it. I know I don't. I am tired of the bad news and the bad press we have gotten the past couple of years. Fulmer better get this mess fixed. We all know it's ultimately his responsibility.
We are all angry (I am) and we vent our frustrations on the board. After all, that's why the board is here so we can get it off our chest and suffer in the company of fellow Vol fans who love the program as much as we do. You also have to remember that this board is a source of news and current events for a lot of people. Many, including myself sometimes, don't want to read the same arguments over and over. We know how the "Negavols" feel and we know how the "Fulmerites" feel. There are plenty of threads on this board to argue for the firing of coach Fulmer or why he should get a 5 year extension.
I feel like it's my responsibility to make this board enjoyable for everyone. That means trying to keep some sort of order. For a while every thread was turning into the same discussions over and over. My solution to that was to try and keep those in a couple of threads and not the entire board. I thought it was a win win solution but for some reason many seem to take it personally. Don't, and if you have a better suggestion, my PM box is always open.
If you have a thread that gets moved because it's not related to the Vols, deleted for flaming, or merged into a similar thread that already exists, don't take it personally. It's not an attack on you, but rather us trying to maintain some order. If you feel your posts has been moved, or deleted unfairly then a simple FRIENDLY PM to one of the mods or myself would be fine. We will consider your opinion and on occaison have determined that we made a mistake and moved it back. We do make mistakes sometimes.
This brings me to my next point. If you have a problem with one of the moderators on this board then you are welcome to PM that mod or PM me. I will be happy to listen to your input. I will, however, no longer tolerate public criticism of the people that help me run this place. This great group of people (LIO, GAVol, OWB, and Volmanjr) are a big reason that VolNation is here for all of you. Without them being here so much to help me keep an eye on things, I am not sure VolNation would still be around. If you want to take shots at me on the board go right ahead but if anyone publicly takes shots at the people who volunteer their time for free to help us all -- their account will be removed immediately. I feel very strongly about this. I ask them to do a lot around here but I will not ask them to take public abuse. I repeat, your account will be removed, no exceptions.
That brings me to flaming. From this point forward if you personally attack another poster your account will be suspended for two weeks. If it continues to happen, your account will be removed. I don't care who started it.
If you see a post that is out of line or someone is attacking you or another poster, please click on the "report this post" button and one of us will get to it quickly and take the appropriate action. We might not see every inappropriate post right away.
I am sorry if this comes across as harsh but some valued posters have brought my attention that the board is not as fun as it used to be. Obvioulsy a lot of that has to do with us losing but it also has to do with people not respecting others. I love this place more than any of you could imagine. I have poured countless hours of my time and energy into building and maintaining it. All I want is to see it be the best it can be and that depends on you, the posters. I know we have a really great group here and I appreciate every single one of you, even the ones I don't agree with (you know who you are :angel: ).
