Who do you think will be the starting 5 on the OL by the first game? It appears that we are still switching players around on the line like in previous years.

Richmond Robertson Thomas Wiesman Hall...any other scenario is to stoke competition.

That's pretty much how I see it too, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the coaches give Kendrick the "start." Much like how Marlin Lane was the "starting" RB in 2014.

I just really hope Kendrick doesn't start at all. Not to bash the kid, but he's not a SEC caliber O-Lineman.

The Sports Source reported that he was bigger and stronger this year and could really be a factor with his versatility between guard and tackle.

Who's the other backup T besides Kendrick?

I think one of the freshmen, all of which need a redshirt year. I think in a pinch, Ryan Johnson gets his redshirt pulled and has to play if we have injuries to 2 of our 3 tackles now battling to start.

Nice read.

Tennessee offensive linemen gain attention amid competition - Odessa American: Sports

Tennessee coach Butch Jones has emphasized competition across the offensive line. Tennessee is still sorting out the right combination of five linemen with the Sept. 1 opener against Appalachian State less than three weeks away.

"It's a good thing," offensive line coach Don Mahoney said. "It's guys coming out every day knowing there's no time for anyone to feel comfortable. That's where you want to be in a place like this. It should be that way."

I'll take whatever the coaches decide over your armchair analysis.

You know this is a message board right? It's where members give opinions. And with this coaching staff, sometimes the arm chair QBS are right more than they should be...

Of course I do, but you presented it as fact not opinion. I'll rely on coaches for those facts. Just don't think you have seen enough to make that judgement on a kid that is working his butt off. Nor do I feel like you are qualified.
