Starting Db's

I think D. Myles and J. Jackson have a very good chance at seeing time at safety. Either one, or both, have a very good shot. It will be interesting to watch.

Jackson wants to play safety. But here is what I think.

LCB-Brent Vinson, Evans
SS-Eric Berry, Janzen Jackson, Prentiss Waggner
FS-Demetrice Morley, Darren Myles, Prentiss Waggner
RCB-Dennis Rogan, Marsalous Johnson

Fleming could step up and surprise some people at CB. Also don't sell Waggner short. I don't think he'll play behind Myles.

Anyone know if Gordon will get in?

I know that Vinson is talented but remember Eric Berry said last year he was working with Art Evans a lot with his one on one coverage and Berry said Evans is probably the best on the team at it.

I think its up in the air next year with the exception of Berry and Morley, if Morley can keep his grades up! I think Jackson will see time at Safety and Myles will be in on the Nickle coverage. Waggner will be in rotation with Rogan. And if Gordon's grades are still an issue they might redshirt him.

I'm expecting our defensive backfield to be great next year, and we need them to be to help out our D-line. We could use one or two "coverage sacks" a game. . .

Yes and I believe that our D-Line rotation will actually be a lot better than people expect. The new coaches will rotate more than the past regime and the coaching should be great. With the D-Line learning from CMK, CEO, and Chester McGlockton, the sky is the limit. I have also heard from players that they are doing a lot more than they would have if Fulmer would have stayed and they are extremely excited for what is to come.

No question they underachieved the last few years, I agree it will be improved. . .hopefully the most improved part of the team right behind QB :)

Eric Berry wanted to play corner when he came in and now he is an All-American safety.. Janzen Jackson will be put at the position that the coaches feel will help the team the most.. and thats at corner.. and thats where he'll play

CB- VINSON-EDWARDS-EVANS
FS- MORLEY- MYLES- ANDERSON
SS- BERRY- JACKSON- WAGGNER
CB- ROGAN- GORDON- EVANS

also look out for zach rogers at one of the safety spots. could get lost in the shuffle at receiver and has a good build for a free safety. m. johnson is gonna be a special teams player and a reserve when we go prevent

If Rogers doesn't play at receiver he won't see the field unless it's special teams. The Defensive recruits will keep coming in and he won't play in a loaded secondary like the one we have.

I doubt gordon will get in, but who knows we may be pleasantly suprised. He could be a force in the return game somehow, as he is excellent when he gets in space.

Are any of the safeties, other than Berry, capable of putting a couple of extra pounds and moving to LB? Nevon seemed to do a good job last year. Just wondering what you guys thought.

You sure? I remember him always saying he felt more comfortable at safety.

I remember Berry saying Morley had the best coverage skills....as far as staying on a man.
