Is the first one worth getting as a used? What type of game is it...I like the PS2 star wars game where you could go dark side or become good. Is it like that?

honestly, the first game was good but could have been alot better. the plot was all there and they had it set up great, but the gameplay and story as a whole wasn't as good good as it probably could have been. i would rent it before buying it. you could buy it used but i probably wouldn't spend more than about 20 bucks on it. it's super short and can be beaten in about 7-8 hours. the game does have a light side/dark side ending depending on what you choose to do near the ending but it's nowhere as in depth as the Knights of the Old Republic games (i'm not sure if that's the game you're talking about or not Jew. those didn't come out on PS2, though....they were on xbox & PC. those games were also RPG's while this is more of a hack n' slash)

that being said, it's still a pretty decent game. i would play it through once to at least see if i enjoy it. i'm a star wars fan so i usually like playing through stuff like this anyway. it's still gotten pretty good reviews on most reputable gaming sites.

When I felt the controls of the first one, it didn't feel very fluid. I would still like to pick the first up used, though. Or maybe I'll rent it...

I bought the first one, the storyline is great...I'll admit, aside from being a science guy...I'm a bit of a star wars nerd.

I played the demo on PS3 this AM and I like it, however, it seemed more fluid but the destructible environment owns.

demo was pretty good. i think i may end up being a little let down by the story since i'm not too crazy about where they're going with the whole "cloning" plot, but it should still be a good game. i'll definitely be trying this out.

Jedi mind trick was a lot of fun making the storm troopers off themselves

I wish they would go back to the RPG gaming like they had with KOTOR. Unleashed is pretty good for what it is, but I miss the rpg element that star wars games used to have.

it's a shame they haven't made a KOTOR III. I and II were some of the best rpg's ever made IMO.

Just rented/beat it over Christmas. The story for this game is really good. Better than most. Agree about wanting another KOTOR.

Isn't that pretty much what the upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic game is?

no. the upcoming old republic game is an MMO. it will have rpg elements but it won't be a continuation of the main KOTOR plot, which is why so many people were upset that this game was made instead of a true third one.

but that's what i meant. wasn't he saying that they should go back to the RPG element-based gameplay?

maybe. i just took it as him meaning that he wished they would go back to making games like KOTOR I and II.....which are true rpgs without an MMO element.

Just got the game for Christmas. Looking forward to playing through it. I thought the first one had a good story line to it.

The new SWTOR will be availible on the PC platform only. KOTOR was a console based game which is what we have been missing on the next gen consoles.

got a chance to play this over the weekend and i have to say that it's possibly the shortest campaign i've ever experienced. how they lived with themselves after charging full retail price for this game when it was first released is beyond me. a little over 4 hours of gameplay is never worth 60 bucks. i'll probably play the third just because i'm somewhat interested in where they're going with the story......but i'm labeling this one a letdown. first one was better.

Don't know about The Force Unleashed games, but I know when I played video games in high school I loved the Star Wars Battlefront (#1 and #2) games on PS2. If they come out with a SWB3 for PS3 then I might have to persuade my brother to buy it for his PS3.
