Apparently CBS All Access charges you for service but still shows you ads while you are watching the shows. There's nothing like spending money to watch ads! There app has gotten horrible reviews as well.

Just watched the trailer. I didn't even know those were Klingons until they said so. Looks like they've also completely ignored the official storyline Cannon on regarding Spock among others. This looks like they just threw together a si-fi show that's loosely based on the Star Trek universe, but with no regard for the accepted Cannon of story and slapped the Star Trek name on it. I don't know what this show is, but it's not Star Trek.

The Klingon augment virus basically allows them to play with the looks and have as many versions of what Klingons look like as they want.

I absolutely agree, there is literally no reasonable explanation for doing that. The Klingon look established in the Next Gen is iconic.

The other side of that coin is they'd produce it and show it on CBS only to cancel it after it's first season anyway. It's a lose lose with the big networks anymore.

Watched the first episode of TNG with my kids today. I was expecting it to be extra hokey but was pleasantly surprised to see it still holds up well. Kids were engaged.

Premier Date Announced!!

The first episode of Star Trek: Discovery will air on Sunday, September 24 at 8:30 p.m ET/PT on CBS with the following fourteen episodes set to follow exclusively on the CBS All Access streaming service weekly.

The season is set to be released in two halves with the first eight episodes running from September 24 through November 5 followed by the second half picking up in January 2018.

The series premiere will also be available on CBS All-Access the night of September 24 along with the second episode immediately following the broadcast of the premiere.

I'd bet that a lot of folks don't know it will move to streaming after this first episode.

I'm watching but that is why this show will get canceled. I'm not going to pay for CBS streaming service and I'm sure many others won't either. Unless they keep it on network I don't see it lasting.

I'm a lifelong Trekkie, bot I'm not very optimistic. I'm not sure what the purple Jack o lantern is supposed to be, but it's definitely not a Klingon.

I'm DVRing it (while watching WWE No Mercy) and the more I hear about the series it makes sense for the Klingon's to look different.

From what I have heard the Klingon's they first show have been separated from Kronos and have been using ancient technology to augment their appearance, weapons etc..
