I've heard the same thing from people I know that met him. Even though he played for that other team on the other side of the state, he was one of the greatest and baseball lost a great one.
You are lucky if you met Stan the man.:salute:Class act for sure.
On my 9th birthday,sitting behind the visitor's dugout at old Seals Stadium in San Francisco, he was asked to share a photograph with the birthday boy and said, " Sure and I'll give my best Pepsodent smile." Not only that, gave a free signed "Happy Birthday, Stan Musial" baseball. This kid walked on air.
Yeah, I know, I'm old.
