I probably wouldn't have voted for Tebow either. Hell, I would vote for Crompton just to piss everyone off.

At the media days, Spurrier basically threw his Director of Football Operations under the bus then "courageously" took the blame. There was a question about his new defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward and Spurrier didn't know who the reporter was talking about. The reporter had to repeat the question several times before it registered with the "Really Old Ball Coach". Also Spurrier talked about how he now has 4 coaches that all really like to golf, just like him. Maybe that is a good sign for the Vols. All that golfin' could be the reason that they are 4th in the East every year.

Rescinding a vote when he gets called out about it...

Maybe he could ask for his testicles back as well. The OBC needs to hang em up and just stay on the links.

This whole thing just pisses me off! Do the coaches NOT have a right to vote for whoever they want? I don't understand this "witch hunt" the SEC and the media seems to have been on ever since we found out that Tebo was not unanimously voted 1st team! Did our forefathers not fight and die so that we would have the freedom to vote?!?

Didn't see the big deal to begin with.

You can make a strong case for Snead being the best qb in the conference.

Spurrier did the same thing when LSU beat his azz, and he squealed they took cheap shots and cheated. Miles called his bluff and said to show specifics. Spurrier just stammered and backed down so fast he got no heels left on his shoes.

Odds of the USCe homers, I forget their names as they all spew the same crap, entering this thread to defend their glorious coach?

I'll go with 0

Does it really matter? He should have his vote and it not matter.
Exactly and in years past he would've said "damn right I voted for Jevan Snead, what's it to ya". When did the Darth Visor turn into a sniveling whiny baby?

Spurrier has remade himself into a joke. I used to laugh... But now, I really couldn't care less.

Spurrier knows he's in a dead end job with no hope of ever winning anything. He's still mad at florida for not hiring him when zook got fired.

I hear ya. I just sorta feel sorry for the guy.

No doubt.I know I use to have a strong hate for the guy for kicking our butt every year but it's still some good memories(even though I hated him).Spurrier was a great coach at Florida.

The problem I have with this whole thing is how Spurrier tried to put all this on the shoulders of one of his assistants. Who would want to work for a guy throwing you under the bus like that? It doesn't matter if the assistant picked Jon Crompton, it's Steve's job to look over it if he signed off on it.
