1st of all, first post on Vol Nation. Just got down to Knoxville in September. Made it to a few games at Neyland. Had a great time tailgating. Games left much to be desired, but I think there's a lot of talent at UT. It'll be interesting to see Kiffin try to work it out.

Spring game question: I know a lot of other schools have other things going on outside of the spring game; garage sales (selling jerseys, balls, equipment, etc), parties, meet the team, autograph sessions. It's my first spring game here in Knoxville. Can you give me the lowdown on anything happening outside of the game?

To my knowledge not much else happens. This being the first year under Kiffin, things could be a little different. You can get autographs the day of the game.

I think someone posted something about the autograph activities go on at Haslam Field (the practice field).

I may be dead wrong with all this. I am sure someone will let us both know if I am :)

they have a fan fair like thing before the game. go over to Haslam Field (get there early) and you get to meet players and coaches and get autographs. after that the spring game is played and then after that there's a baseball game

Thanks. I'm pretty sure after grilling and getting a few adult beverages in me, I probably won't care too much.

The nice weather has me jonesing for some spring ball.

It has been for me in the past, but there could be alot of people going this year. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a record crowd.
I'm hoping Kiffin treats it more like a game than a practice. I don't know how it's been in the past, but I know that coaches are different in every aspect. Some Spring Games are so weak...some are intense, just depends on the coach.

COME ON LANE!! I paid a solid $5!

For the first time in six or seven years, ANY GAME, even a spring game, feels like nirvana to me right now. I'm already trying to contact old friends and get a caravan up. Can't wait to see Orange and White again withe NO CLAPPING FOR FUMBLES!!!:dance2:

First, welcome to God's country. Secondly, I too believe the spring game will bring in a record crowd. It should be an intense atmosphere with Kiffin trying to figure out who wants to play ball and who wants to continue with the status quo. Also, I hope it's the best Offense against the best defense, this crap we've seen in years past shows you nothing.

I guess as game day gets closer, details like start time will start to come clear? Also, is seating first come, first seated?

Not sure we can get a record crowd in there if they have some of the stadium closed off for constructon. I guess it just depends on exactly how much they have closed off.

Make sense after beating Miami. I remember '86. We got beat by Army at home. Is that the year we wore the ugly ass orange hightops and got destroyed by Bama?

Anyone thinking about tailgating for the O&W game this year. I have had several guys ask me about it. I am expecting a record crowd and fired up for football. Would the Knox police have a problem with this since it is not actually game day?

They have football without tailgating?

I am planning on tailgating. Sunny warm day, grilling, beer. Does it get better?
