Sports Card Collectors!

I honestly don’t, and you’re right, counterfeiting is huge in the sportscard game right now.
I’m about 99% sure it is real.
The color, the paper, everything looks right about it.
I don’t even know if the $60 Willie Mays I bought is authentic, it’s just a chance you take I suppose.
I did a search of your card and if it’s real it’s a bargain price and I’d get it. If not, it’s not worth 5 bucks

It’s pretty rough.
I found some on eBay in similar condition getting bid up to around $150 and a little higher.
It’s not that far off.
When it comes to vintage cards, the condition doesn’t really bother me, just owning a Nolan Ryan rookie card is the win in my opinion.
I’ve never seen one that I would feel comfortable buying, most are in the thousands and I will never pay that for a baseball card.

Finally got around to taking pics of my pickups from yesterday's card show in Cookeville.

I always enjoy talking with this older gentleman at every show and I've bought from him before well he had $125 on this but said I could have it for $100 so I took a chance on it. If it's legit (it passes the smell test) and not altered I think it could grade in the 4-6 range. It's a beautiful card.

Another guy had a nice setup of vintage graded and raw cards got this for $65 and I convinced him to throw in the Trump😎 as well.

The only other cards I got were...
Got these three out of a binder for only $2.00

My last pickups were these two for a $1 each.

That Mantle is sweeeet!
Love the multi player cards and I almost picked up that Atkins but passed and have regretted it every since.
Nice pickups bud, I can’t wait until me and my boy can get to that Cookeville show.

I couldn’t decide on the Ryan rookie, so I thought I’d give it a week and it it’s still there next Saturday, it’s meant to be.
So instead, I picked up a few cheapies today, to hold me over.
Not bad for $22.

I didn’t notice the weird edge on the Joe Morgan until I took it out of the holder.
Oh well, could’ve done a lot worse for $3...

Yes, I did several years ago. It was only a 7-8, and I didn’t like the bulky protector.
Was it difficult to do?
The thought stresses me out but I found a couple of nice cards I’ve been hunting, but they’re graded.
The prices are only slightly more than raw, but I don’t collect graded cards.

I hit the top of the slab with a hammer and it came apart easy & no damage to the card

Mine was a couple of now defunct offbrands I was able to use a multitool and crack the case enough to work a thin flathead screwdriver in between the seal and eventually pop the seal and it split the case.

Yep but not one from PSA & SGC.
So I’m looking at a PSA 4 1960 Bob Gibson and and SGC 3 1958 “rival fence busters” Willie Mays/Duke Snider.
It killed me that I couldn’t take the cards out and hold them.
I’ve been hunting these 2 for a while and just couldn’t pull the trigger because they were in a slab.

I and most collectors now days prefer graded for vintage as they are so easy to fake now. I'm scared that '58 Mantle I got last Saturday will come back fake or altered when I eventually send it to SGC because it was in a screwdown.

If you ever sell you will get more buyers if they are graded.
