I've never really been fond of Basillio's show, either. It's miles ahead of anything on the Sports Animal, but still not great. Plus it sounds like it is being recorded in some guy's garage.

I have just listened to two days of the Basillio show and have been entertained alot. He even taught me a few things I didnt know. I can admit it!! So maybe some of us are a little jaded, and burned out on the talk radio, it is still nice to listen to a group who really seem to know their stuff and be fans.........Personally, I like to hear topics and facts and rumors brought up I have never heard before..

So thanks for showing the link to the Basillio show. He has a new fan.

104.5---Big Orange Sunday and the Tony Barnhart show, Tuesdays @ 2pm...and basically anything with Coach Matthews, I like.

But you're right...104.5 isn't very good. I was very ticked off when Thom Abraham was taken off 106.7 (now on 560AM). He didn't "seem" to have the ego the other guys do..he would actually ALLOW people to have an opinion. WHAT A CONCEPT!

But really...who on sports talk radio, in general, is tolerable all the time? They're all arrogant and ego driven in general...Dan Patrick is as close to being consistently entertaining without being a pompus know it all SOB, in sports talk IMO. But that's just me...

All the local guys--Plaster, Mark Howard, Hyams, et all...they've all got the "big fish, little pond" mentality. My biggest annoyance is when someone disagrees with THEIR opinion or calls out the media and they, in turn, blast him or her into oblivion and subsuquently cut them off b/c of it. Pr--ks.

Basilio is really good. You have to get used to his style, but he is far more realistic and informative than anything on 99.1...

Also, I've enjoyed the Out of Bounds show on 1180 AM in the mornings. I liked Mike and Mike in the morning, but this show is still better than the junk on 99.1 in the mornings.

God, I turned it on today for a practice update before I head out and they are still doing the Buck Kelso bit. That is why they suck.

In Nashville we have to deal with George Plaster and his crew of babbling idiots. They're order of importance is Nashville Preds, Titans, Vanderbilt, Nashville Sounds, Braves/Yankees, David Lipscomb, Belmont, then --------------------------------->UT.

I disagree with your order a bit but definitely agree with the premise of your post. They love enything but UT sports
