Don't ask why, but he said that he remembers Scot Loeffler really liked Nick Stephens and recruited him hard to UM. Stephens was also one of Cutcliffe's guys. I think this says a lot because both of those guys are regarded as great QB coaches. Who knows maybe we already have our QB and don't know it. I'm not going to hold my breath.

Cutcliffe loved Joey Matthews and BJ Coleman.

Ok ..........It's his job to win.

Kiffin doesn't seem like the kind of man to put his ass on the line based solely on someone's "star rating".

Stephens was out most of spring. I doubt Kiffin can make any judgment until fall practice. At that point we will see. I just don't see this as smoke and mirrors at all.

If you read between the lines from Kiffin the job is Crompton's to lose. I think it will be Crompton running a very QB friendly offense versus WK and I think he will do well enough to keep the job the whole season.

Don't get your hopes up (see: Kevin Craft...better numbers in the same offense)
Well shoot... Did you not see what Kevin Craft did in the second half against the third ranked defense in the nation that never allowed a single play of over 37 yards all season and held Florida in check even though Florida only tried for about 10 minutes last year?

Yeah cuz everyone knows how much Florida hates to try to run the score up.:good!:

Did you not see what Kevin Craft did the REST of the season? He was TERRIBLE! Lamaison is for depth and nothing more, imo.

Lol. Our "caveat" defense of 2008.

You forgot, "and played 6 offenses in the bottom quarter of FCS teams" and "was a non factor after falling 14 points behind because the game was won and the opposition went on cruise control."

I believe Crompton will probably be the starter when we kick off the season, but I also think this is a closer race than many think. I feel like the fact Kiffin recruited Crompton at USC, for some reason this will give him a slight edge. That said, as bad as both Crompton and Stephens looked last year, I still feel like Stephens was the better QB on the field, and I think he does have a shot at winning the job.

Stephens is garbage. 2-7 against Wyoming with 2 INT's. Dont give me the whole "he could never get in a groove or was always wondering when he was coming out" crap. He threw a pick to a DE for Wyoming on a screen play. He gets balls batted down or tipped at the line of scrimmage A LOT. He has made one good pass in his career. GA game. Crompton made one against KY. They still suck. Crompton is a head case. Did we do it to him? maybe but still if he cant handle the heat then get out. The only Nick that should be playing is Laimason. Heck give him a shot if he is better than them. If he isn't. Line up in the wishbone and run that baby all game. lol jk.

Sorry i just hate the situation we are in at QB and we are blinded by new begining which is great and I love this staff but that still doesn't help us on the biggest postion in Football.
