I got a speeding ticket back in July for going 45 in a 25, a minute from my place and it was $155.00. I would say yours is hefty on the Interstate. My friends husband got a $300.00 speeding ticket over the summer, on the interstate, coming back from Boston.

I got one in Knoxville about a month and a half ago. $100, for doing 60 in a 55.

60 in a 55?? Did you actually get pulled over for doing 60 or did the cop reduce the speed for you? I don't think I've ever heard of anybody getting pulled over for getting clocked 5 mph over the speed limit.

I was doing 60. He was a real jerk. Said that he figured I was going faster than that... I was like "How? It is 7:30 am in downtown Knoxville on a Friday! I was lucky to be going 60!"

Don't feel bad I got a 26 in a 15 on campus. I was going so slow the cop walked out in the street and motioned me to the curb. It was right across from Stokley.

Went to traffic school and got it off but what a headache.

USAF, I've heard you can get a speeding ticket at the base for sneezing over the speed limit.

In the good old days when Tennessee was struggling with the change from 75 to 55, if you got caught speeding by the THP below 75, it was a $2 or $4 fine and nothing on the record. The theory was that the new speed limit was being enforced so they were eligible for federal highway funding.

Since I drove like a bat out of hell, I got to know several of the troopers. It was all pretty cool.

the old fart story of the day, duly submitted....

I got a 98 in a 65 once. I looked in the mirror, saw a car coming up on me and thought to myself.. "Man, here comes someone going faster than I am".. Then the blue lights came on. :ermm:

Absolutely. Never can be too careful. It could be vital to national security for god's sake.

Plus there are several "Oranges". Texas, Auburn, Okie State, Syracuse and shall I say.....florida.

Word to the wise....never,never,never,ever,ever,ever speed in a Military installation. (And I mean 1 mile an hour over the limit) The MPs have you by the short hairs.

that's ridiculous. I got pulled over for going 35 in a 25 one time. I was taking some chick home but we were just driving around out of boredom and some cop pulls me over. We tell him where we were headed and he tells us we're going the wrong way. We of course know this, so I politely inform him that "going in the opposite direction of your destination is not illegal, *******". I somehow am not given a ticket.

My first ticket came when I was 19 at Exit 4 off I-81. Stupid trooper fined me $360. Though I wasn't going as fast as she said I was. Though it was in a construction zone.
