Peterman did quite well at Pitt after he left Knoxville, maybe Pitt just develops better QB's. Granted it was a different coaching staff but guess who was the Offensive Coord. at Pitt, Jim Chaney 2015 and Matt Canada in 2016 :rolleyes:

These coaches see these players every day. We don’t. They coach for their jobs...don’t you think they will play the best one? We saw numerous times that CJP would pull JG.

I think they play the ones they THINK are the best.
There are way to many cases where the starter that was thought to be the best was replaced and outplayed by the backup to argue that the coaches are 100% right all the time.
We may not see em in practice but we watch all the games and many , from seeing them all have some doubt that if the others got the same amount of practice and game time that JG does that he actually is the best.

Couple things here....I was the one comparing Peterman and JG. I did that for you since you slurp all over JG but eviscerate other QBs. Peterman didn't play as many college games as JG already has. Stop with the 5 year garbage. I think Peterman was a mediocre QB at best. He had a great game vs Clemson. I'd take his one 300 yard game vs Clemson (and 5TDs) any day over JGs 3 300+ yd games. You defeated yourself and all your JG slurping defense. And you know it. I think it's funny.

Secondly...please show me where I compared Peterman to Dobbs? I'll wait.

Oh...and just for emphasis ..you tore apart your own argument better than anyone on this board could have. JG is not a successful, or a good QB. By your own logic.

Yep. I remember Dobbs running for his life with our weak OL. I doubt we have a great scrambler in the wings or he'd have played.

Wasn't JG a top 3 dual-threat out of high school? Rankings aren't everything, eh?

I think most fans would be more forgiving of Maurer or Bailey’s mistakes considering their youth and inexperience but a 5th year Senior that is playing his 4th season to be consistently making Freshman and Sophomore mistakes, it’s the player and not the coaching. JG reached the peak of his capabilities as a Freshman or Sophomore. There has been zero sustainable improvement over the coarse of his tenure as UT’s QB.

This all day. Why haven’t they groomed Shrout or Maurer? It’s one thing if it’s pure incompetence (Butch not starting Dobbs, using Kamara the wrong way etc) but it seems to be the position is just not being developed.

Maurer was quick when he played he made the line look better before he got hurt.

They are not playing the QB that the OC wants. They are playing Bama Gump's favorite with no real valid reason. Can't believe there's another thread trying to justify JG playing for any reason. There is no reason he should ever get back on the field again at UT. Would rather they direct snap to a running back instead of ever playing JG again. Enough is enough.

Seems like he has the ability, he just doesn’t have what it takes between the ears. He’s rattled and fold a when there’s any adversity.
