Here is a question. Are those the same vilations Griff wrote about in a post showing how UT was in the lead? Or since they only report twice a year are they new violations that increase the Cocks total?

Were his total football-specific or for the entire athletic department?

"South Carolina's football program was cited for three infractions, two of which were the more severe variety.
The school said an assistant coach wrongly texted a prospect and football recruits watched a display that simulated a game-day experience against NCAA rules.
Also, an ineligible player was provided transportation to an away game.
The track program committed two Level I secondary violations. One occurred when coaches attended voluntary athletic related activities, the school said, while the other involved the women's track coaching staff allowing two prospects an official visit before getting proper approval."
Hmm, we catch grief for some smoke and mirrors and these guys are taking recruits to away games

They took an ineligible player, not a recruit.

Expect SC to get the death penalty. Improper snacks one day, Ferraris the next. Like Griff said, there's a fine line between secondary violations and majors.

This is normal for SC most summers to report this many all at once usually every summer. Media just doesn't care about the cocks

Apparently, it's a big deal to Scroggins.

If he doesn't understand the football world outside of playing the game (i.e. not knowing media and regulation terminologies and practices), then all this stuff is just bad press to him...possibly bad press he doesn't want to be a part of

Scroggins will be around 3 areas of bad press....and ours is somehow the "least" serious.

Florida has serious player Crime troubles, USC has an ongoing investigation involving paying players, and UT has 6 Secondary Violations!!!

Except for the fact that Scroggins specifically pointed out his concern for UT's list of violations.

How often do you see on television about UF's crime problems? None. How often do you actually hear about USC's probes? Once in a blue moon - i think the last time it was in the news was when the Bush and Mayo probes combined into 1 investigation. How many times have you heard on ESPN about Kiffin's recruiting violations (or big mouth)? Alot, almost for half a year, from every anchor on their shows. Our stuff isn't near as serious but recruits are hearing about it alot more on the sports networks. And in the mind of a recruit, that much negative press that often is going to have negative effects on his opinions of a school.
