Finally saw it the other day thought it was pretty awesome. A mix between Inception and Butterfly Effect imo, definitely an interesting story. And Jake Gyllenhal (sp?) was alot better than I was expecting. Thought it should've done better at the box office what do y'all think?

Saw it in the theater and bought the DVD yesterday.

Thought it fascinating that they were able to make the suburbs and exburbs around Chicago look appealing.

It's an intriguing thriller that will hold your attention from start till finish. Reminded me of one of my old favorite television shows "Quantam Leap." The guy from Quantam Leap is actually the voice of Jake Gyllenhaal's father in this. Also, Vera Farmiga is one of my favs.

It was pretty decent. More singularity themes in cinema.

Basically you can't find a bomb in someones memory if they never knew it was there. The only brain that had the memories of the bomb was driving around in a van.

It was my understanding that he was going into a parallel universe or alternate dimension to find the bomb, not back in time. And I don't think it was that persons memory, he was just used so JG's character could use his body.

Even if it was a parallel universe or an alternate dimension, it was still built around the last 8 minutes of Seans memories. They mention this numerous times in the movie. I believe they also mentioned that they used Sean's brain because the rest were destroyed.

Once again, unless Sean knew where the bomb was, it wouldn't exist in his memory, therefore it wouldn't exist in the parallel universe

Agreed, I really tried to make sense of the reasoning behind the premise of the movie, and it simply didn't shake out. In spite of that, it's the type of role Jake Gyllenhaal is made for, so it worked out.

JG was good in the movie but the plotholes, all the fake endings, and the mega happy ending just killed it for me. The buildup was entertaining though.

Saw it last night and thought it was good, but yes it was a plot hole. If they had gone with the idea of it just being time travel/alternate universe it would have worked better instead of boxing themselve in with the memory thing.

I think they used the memory, sort of like echoic memory, to reconnect him to that point in time-space.

I don't really remember the movie. Saw it in theaters.

I really enjoyed it until the ending. During the last five minutes, I just wanted to shake someone for not just ending it already. They just kept digging the plot hole deeper and deeper until it made the movie not all that good anymore.

Either the premise is fundamentally flawed, or the writers didn't flesh it out enough for it to make sense without the viewer bridging some big logic gaps on their own. Either way, big draw back.
