I'm sure he'll probably land in the NFL supplemental draft if he loses his next appeal.

The

NFL hasn't had a supplemental draft since 2019.
Wrong. They did in 2023 but no players were selected. The NFL canceled the supplemental draft in both years because no eligible players were approved (2024 and 2025).

I bet he goes high in the supplemental draft. Wouldn’t be shocked if someone gives up a pick within the first two rounds

I looked at the supplemental draft and it works by teams saying "this round, this pick is where we would've drafted him if he had been in the draft." That determines who gets him and the contract he can get, I think.

Bottom line: given Sorsby's issues, he's going to get relatively low-ball offers because the teams have the upper hand this time. He's not THAT good and most teams assumed he'd play college this year and took care of their QB issues already.

He's not a "we've got to have him" QB and he's got baggage.

Dude didn't just step in crap, he did a 1 & 1/2 with a twist into the crap.

No team in the modern NFL gives up a main-draft first round pick in order to take someone in the supplemental pick.

We’ve never had a top QB in the modern nfl in the supplemental draft

Adam Schefter believes he will go in the second, possibly the first.

Todd Mcshay says he would take him in the first.

So.....anywhos, as I sit in my comfy chair with a glass of very nice Irish whisky at about 11 PM on a nice Friday evening-a thought popped into my pathetic head I do not know the answer to.

Soresby got like a $5 million NIL deal from TTU didn't he? Does TTU still have to pay him??

My understanding of NIL is that it cannot be tied to performance or whether the guy actually plays period.

What say you folks?

Personally, my current thinking is that what happens to the $$ is really going to be the big story in all of this. Soresby will most likely try to get the money and TTU-obviously-will not want to pay him.

Cheers! I suspect, as with Coleman at UT and his deal having been renegotiated to be "back loaded" to protect Spyre, that if Sorsby can get paid so can Coleman whether he plays or not.

In other words, I doubt it unless TTU is dumb in how they loaded his contract.

Soresbys contract was always going to be funky as he was a one year rental basically from January to January. Not a whole lot there which could be backended and what would be the benefit to Soresby of renegotiating that now?

The more different avenues I try to think about this, the more confusing it becomes.

In reality for Sorsby, he does not need more bad PR by trying to get or keep money from TTU.

A contract is a contract and there's the (assumed) "morals clause" of "bringing shame or bad publicity" to the sponsors.

Then again, ridiculously rich oil money may just shrug and wipe their rear with another $100.
