Sorry, beating a dead horse. Still historically troubling

Vandie getting drummed by NC State last night was indirectly another slap in the face from losing to them....

I chose to miss my first Vandie game since I was 3 years old (30 something games). After watching the defense give up over 1300 yards to Kentucky and Missouri, I saw the writing on the wall for the game in Nashville. After the Vandie game, UT gave up nealry 2000 yards to 3 lowly SEC opponents and lost the season ender to it's little step brother. Very insulting.

It is hard to imagine for any school (even division 2) to give up 2000 yards in 3 games to any level opponent.

Anyway cry fest over....

Happy New Year

NO! It is not a dead horse. Unfortunately "it" is alive and sucking UT football down the 2nd tier of conferences. Lyle A Jones remains undefeated against 2nd tier conferences and hovers around 50% of big 5 conferences thanks to Vandy and KY offering a good chance of 2 per year.

Yeah, I agree. We have fans that think it's okay because we had a few injuries. So the horse is not dead.

Losing to Vandy places a stench on team 120 that can't be removed with bowl bid, optimistic coach speak or practice time. They sunk our boat, nothing left to do but thrash around in the water.

Butch and UT were just flat and overconfident against vanderbilt, expecting an easy win. They'll beat them next year big in Knoxville.

I hold you personally responsible for the Vandy loss since you missed the first game in 30 or so years.

Ok Bozo......its not just a few injuries...it was the whole starting DL and several DBs. Don't ignore the facts to justify your pathetic views of Team 120. The real truth, you believed media and neither like to be wrong, and by the way, more teams than Tennessee did not meet their preseason expectations. If you have no one to blame for your immature response to this years results, its yourself. Too many things had to happen for UT to see a 10+ win season and because it did not happen you blame the team and and coaches........I bet your one of those people that blame everyone else but yourself when things go wrong in your life.

Just another poster who thinks he knows football. Name one time CBJ came out and said this team would win the east or go to the SEC Championship.........not once. It was all media.........and behold......a bunch a pencil pushing geeks that never played football or couldn't make it in the NFL are wrong........Wow! that is news.

Since we're all beating dead horses and waiting for bowl game to give us new material, it would be good if we had a "games" section on VN...for example:

"Coach Speak Jeopardy"
Topics:
Post Game Presser
NSD
Media Days
Things Butch wishes he didn't say
Defecting Players

I know you trying to be funny, but I assuming that "us" is the ever present Negavols who have nothing to do but look for way to discredit this team...........really? and you call yourself a fan.

What about the "own the expectations" promotion by Butch early in the season?

You can check my posts to see that I generally side towards the positive....not pleased w/ how the season turned out, but injuries and bad team mojo (Hurd, PW) didn't help. I think Jones has earned the right to have a bogey for next season, and realize that as long as it's not a "trend", that a 4 loss season isn't the end of the world. That being said, Butch could buy himself more equity with fan base if he would loosen up some and learn how to handle the press better...which is why I posted this. No big deal...a lot of emotion on VN right now.

I'll take " Things Butch wishes he didn't say for 800"

This phrase was used by Jones at the beginning of 2016 to ignore the obvious problems of his team that he refused to address after close games with Ohio and Appalachian State.

What is "I am charting week to week what we blow up in the media, at the end of the year I am going to go back and relive those".
