I thought it would be neat to have our Sooner brethren who traveled to Knoxville to post their thoughts about Knoxville here. Post your thoughts from before, during, and after the game.

What did you do on Thursday and Friday leading up to the game? Places you visited/ate/drank. What were your thoughts on the campus, stadium, fans, etc.

Over the last several years we have had pretty good response from OOC fans and I thought it would be fun to read OU's thoughts as well.

I hope all of you enjoy your trip to beautiful East Tennessee and I hope I will get a chance to speak to some of you this weekend!

Safe Travels and Go Vols!

I hope some of you Sooner fans get to visit us up here in NE TN. It's beautiful here in the tricities. While you're here maybe you guys could give all the bandwagon bama fans a hard time. Anyway enjoy your trip.

From Landthieves forum:

If we win this game, I want to get me a Blue Tick puppy and name him after an OU player whom contributes greatly. Any tips? We're driving off on Sunday.

The travel from central OK isn't bad. Arksnsas is the worst part, by car I know there has been 12yrs of constant construction. Roundtrip to Knoxville is like 400$.

I hope everyone from OU has a safe trip and a great experience...I really hope our fans show them the hospitality they showed us last year.

Not an OU fan but I am a hard core UT fan who lives in Nashville.

I gotta be honest and say Knoxville is not one of my favorite cities.

I am sure it is beautiful on the outskirts around the mountains but the metro city itself seems very run down, old, and the roadway system is even worse than Nashville's--which I thought was impossible--cause ours sucks. Columbus and Sacramento have the best in my opinion.

I will also give an example of why I am not a fan of Knoxville...driving to the stadium we pass Turkey Hill (creek?) which I believe is suppose to be the upscale area. The right side seems nice but the left side has an adult dvd store and a strip club if I remember right.

The stadium is amazing though and the best I have every visited.

The Lovell row exit has those things. Turkey creek does not, though Lovell is right next to turkey creek. I hate that place. I do like Knoxville though.

Striker clearly is the best option.

Lawrenceburg?

Yessir.haha stupid highway, that bypass has completely ruined alot of good land and is nothing but an eyesore that will get next to no traffic. There was nothing wrong with just hitting cyclone corner and going straight through town, just a giant waste of tax payers money. Rant over.lol

Also, Westpoint?

Reminds me of when we traveled all the way to Oregon and their fans were amazed, lol.

I live in Portland, Oregon. Oregon fans still talk about how many Tennessee folks were here for the game. Have had many Duck fans talk about how blown away they were at all of the Orange, and how polite our fans were. I took an Oregon grad to Neyland in 2010 to the Tennessee/Oregon game and he had a great experience. Not one single person was disrespectful to him the entire weekend, and we were on the strip all night the night before and after the game. Knoxville, Tennessee is the BEST place in the world for a college football game. Y'all rock Neyland tomorrow night, and GO BIG ORANGE!!

Oregons fans are actually some of the worst I've been around in Knoxville. There was a fight a few rows above me, and as the UT fans piled out of the stadium they rained down curses and even popcorn on some of us. Cal, in 06, had some of the best though. We took a bus to the stadium with Marshawn's Lynch's mom, she was a class act and great to be around. Interacted with all of us.

I prefer Knoxville over Nashville. Knoxville has some rough scenery, but it adds to the character of the city.

Knoxville is somewhere I could live. Nashville is somewhere I would only want to visit.

Last time I was in Nashville, we passed a random "street performer" who was strumming a guitar and singing. We didn't pay any attention or throw any money in his case (we werent rude, we just werent interested nor had the spare change) so he made a smarmy remark that "he'd pray for us on sunday". Just left a bad taste in my mouth as I've never experienced that kind of random rudeness anywhere I've ever been.
