I was reading up on Dooley because as some of you know i have been kind of harsh on him. after looking up some info on him i like what i see.

At La Tech he totally transformed the thinking and perception there. I think it is impressive that he was also the AD too. somthing also that kind of got me excited was this.

"Dooley has spearheaded a number of changes in the Tech football program, all geared towards his student-athletes. These changes include negotiating a new football apparel agreement with NIKE."

seems like NIKE might come after tennessee when our contract is up...and he has a history with them...think that would be a good idea?

I know alot of people still have their doubts about dooley and if he is the right fit. i think he still has alot to proove but i think i may have jumped the gun on him.

I wanted to say one last thing. I think his policy on not allowing the media to talk to his coaches and having a closed practice and being closed mouth on what we are going to run is genious. i was mad at first and i said plunty about it, but after i have had some time to think about it i think it is brilliant. the sec is like a knife fight every year to see who comes to the top. i think one of our only chances of coming out in 2010 and having a good year is the element of surprize. if we come out strong in 10' then that will get the ball running on recruiting...

so in conclusion i am making a promise right here and now to stop the negative dooley talk and give the man a chance. i think he knows what he is doing...

so in the words of tom cruise in jerry maguire......who's coming with me? whooo is going to make the pledge that they are behind dooley. come on dolley haters.....who's coming with me??

Ive supported Dooley since day 1. I feel its my job to do so as a Vols fan. Until the results are horrible, i will support him. Im not like alot of people on here who can see the future and think Dooley is gonna take the program down the crapper. Im giving the man a fair chance.

yeah i mean i have always been in his corner i just was frustrated a little. i liked the excitment of last year and dooley is just so different but he is perfect to rebuild a program. he knows how to get multi things done. he isint going to be flashy but neither is nick saban.

No. Tennessee just renewed its agreement with Adidas for five years, beginning with the 2010-11 academic year.

Dooley was able to get La Tech that contract where they had no contract at all for football previously. They had been purchasing jerseys from Russell and shoes from various companies.

I'm a believer that negativity doesn't ever do any good. As true Vol fans, the least we can do is continue to support the team no matter what whether we like the hire or not. It's easy to be a fan when you're winning, but it's the tough times like we've had lately that is the true test. I wish that everyone would take this approach and give the new staff a chance.

i think dooley would be wise to regularly communicate with the press and fans. he could comment about the process if not the details....you know--throw the dog a bone.

Will he negotiate a deal for black pro combat jerseys in some of the games? NIKE will pay huge money for their logo all over the uniforms!

I agree 100%. Will you be behind this staff if they are 1-3? I will! I understand that it takes time. I dont expect a miracle.
