I started wondering about this 2005 season in the Spring of the year.
I knew we were in trouble in Fall.
Phil, out of characer for him, starts the jive about "on to the Rose Bowl".
Excuse me? What happened to "win the SEC and let things take care of themselves"?
My sense of this is that Phil, as he often does, was trying to use the media for a message.
Fine, no problem, but what message is he trying to send?
My take is that Phil sensed that this team has problems (offensively)
To qoute:"We may have the best offensive line since I have been here."
Personally, I think Phil went out on a limb, he cast himself front of the stones. He knew better. He knew better about this team.
Generals take the heat, a real General ultimately knows he is the one that gets fired like Patton.
And he is willing to understand that is part of the job.
