Something to remember about Legacy recruits

Not all legacy recruits follow in their dads or uncles footsteps. I would love to have all these great legacy guys at UT but I doubt that it's gonna be possible.

Our greatest player, Peyton Manning, was a legacy recruit at Ole Miss and that didn't work out for them. Let's just hope we can get our fair share of great players in the 2014 class---legacy or not.

So now that you've told us what most of us already know...Next time change your topic font to red so you can be sure to alert legacy Vols they can look elsewhere.

If some people would think beyond making a point and patting themselves on the back verses the damage they may cause by making such point...VN would be a much better place. Total DA!

I'm all for having legacy classes but I'm ready for us to have a fresh start and create new legacies!

Kelly, Bates, Berry brothers, and Creamer would all be NEW legacies as only one in each of their lines has preceeded them. Too many "fresh starts" in recent years and not enough building on the program's long term strengths including history and tradition. Based on their ratings and offer lists, the legacies (above) merit the attention our coaching staff is giving them. The fact that they have roots at UT is an edge our coaching staff should claim just as they do with in-state recruits.

I don't think loyalty is what it used to be with high school kids. They have so much exposure to all teams now that we didn't have one, two & three generations ago. I hope we get ALL the legacies as well as every good player in TN., but we'll just have to wait & see.

Bottom line, these legacy kids are ours until they're not and all the Vols have to do to keep them in the fold is look halfway decent this season and unless your not a completely sullen, blackhole of positivity, you can at least expect the Vols will be halfway decent this season.
