if you want to sit and watch the game, do us all a favor and do it from your couch. I stand because every time we hit a three or make a play, I'd knee someone in the back or punch someone from jumping up or fist pumping. its called passion and emotion. and true fans can't contain it. so by all means, if my standing is going to offend you, then we don't need you there.

This is exactly the disconnect on the two views expressed on this thread. Some apparently expect a live sporting event to be the same experience as a piano concert. Some others like myself are thinking more like rock concert.

Actually, it is called inconsiderate and lack of respect. When 10,000 people are doing one thing, and 30 people are doing something else. Usually the 30 people are doing it wrong.

There are typically only about 30 people, if that, standing the entire game that are not in the student section. Most of the arena, including the "blue hairs", stand when big plays, defensive stops, close games, intense moments happen.

It is the same for every team out there, so really, the standers are the minority.

What is funny though; those who sit, wish the ones stand would sit down and the ones who stand, wish the ones who sit would stand up. But neither want the other to tell them what to do. :p

Whoa. And there's, like....always a band AT the game, man.

Come to think of it - the pep band is pretty laid back and rarely stands.

On a side note, I met a guy whose dad was an assistant coach during that time. We used to be able to go in TBA at all hours, shoot hoops, play pool on the Orange felt table in the locker room, perhaps bringing in some adult beverages and females. Some guys might have left with a few souviners...certainly not me though. We had a good time that year.

Wow...nice hookup. I would have loved to play one time at TBA. I played pickup at the Bubble all the time.

I noticed that the fans (especially those closer to the floor) do very little standing and cheering, usually try just sit and clap on occasion, I stood for most of the game, which I'm accustomed to in the student section, and I got some glares from those around me. I guess the question is, why? Do they feel it is beneath them to get excited? Clueless on my end.
